  1. Just keep the nasties out of the compost heap, like the bindweed & couch roots, and I beg to differ, but I'd avoid the nettle roots as well. unless they are baby plants. Then add all the leaves that you'll collect in the autumn - the green machine picks those up and mulches them a treat.

Also - Stabilisant. What is it? How do I test it and where do I get it from if I need to add it?

    Thanks

Salt from your pool supplier probably has stabiliser in it, but will cost you 20 euros +.

Forget it, and use water softener salt from your local Brico at about 7 euros, and don't worry about stabiliser & don't worry about testing for it.

The beauty of the salt water system is simplicity.

I forgot to ask in my previous post; Have you got a winter cover?

It is one thing to share quality time in the sun with friends and neighbours but to be in France all the winter when there is less to do and less people to see... We will see!

Winter's winter, wherever you are, but in France in the winter at least the cold is a dry cold, and you can go for 10 euro lunches [wine included].

As for visitors, would they be the ones who keep you up until the small hours drinking your cellar dry, then emerge at 11.00 am saying "What are WE doing today?"    "Well I don't know about you mate, but I live here, and there's work to do, so perhaps you'd like to mow the grass for me."  Stunned silence from visitors.

  4. I've had a look at the old posts and can't find the answer to this one:

The Procès Verbal has 2 sections:-

'Defauts a corriger avec obligation d'une contre visite' - Now that's obvious to me; You have to get it fixed and go back for a retest on that fault within 2 months.

'Defauts a corriger sans obligation d'une contre visite' - That's the one that's throwing me. How long have you got to get those defaults fixed? What's the penalty for not doing so? If only thes 2nd faults are noted, have you got a valid CT?

I'm sure SD will be along with his usual mine of information, but I'll pm him in case he's sleeping in the sun!
