1. Hi Panda

I don't know if this will be of any use to you but I took these photos of this gorgeous wee guy today in my garden - you're welcome to use any of them . . .

    Oops, sorry about different sizes - I thought I'd re-sized them in Photobucket . . . c'est la vie [:-))]

  2. I don't really do walking Pads ([:$]) apart from taking the dog out occasionally. [:)]  However, we had some very fit folks staying here last summer and they walked the towpath from Castelnaudary to Bram (maybe half-way to Carca?) and it took them about 4 hours.  Maybe if my diet works this year, I might be tempted to do a bit more . . . watch this space. [:-))]

Good luck with the job-hunting - hope something turns up so you can follow your dream.

  3. Hey Pads, no, our sunrises in summer are over the Montagne Noir but the sunsets are over the Lauragais Hills and, occasionally, you can see the Pyrénées peeking over in the background - you'll have to come and see for yourself when you're over here next time [:-))] [:D]
  4. <clap clap clap clap . . . >

Oh Magnolia, what great photos - lucky Luca, how lovely to fit into a ready-made loving family - it looks like Hugo and the cat have accepted him just fine [:D].

I wish you all many happy years together. [:D]

  5. Hi, I've been taking loads of 'weather' photos recently and thought I'd resurrect this thread - we've had lots of foggy starts and then clear skies here in Castelnaudary:

    Foggy mornings:

  6. Cheers Twinkle + Pads, I love taking photos around here and am becoming obsessed with sunrises + sunsets, fog, etc - very sad!  [:$]  I think there's another thread for sunsets, etc so I might post some on that later . . .

Pads, here's another couple - one of the Canal du Midi from the lock in Castelnaudary:

and one of the town looking across the Grand Bassin (with the canal and lock behind me when I took the photo):

BTW, I'll keep an eye out for any jobs for you Pads but I think it would be easier for you to do it once you're here - chicken + egg situation tho' if you can't move until you get a job! [8-)][:)]

  7. Hey Pads, et al,

It's been a spectacular week here for views of the  - we took a trip up to the ski station at Mont d'Olmes on Sunday but could see the mountains from here in Castelnaudary!

Sometimes, you can go for weeks without seeing the mountains and others, they leap out at you without warning. [:-))]

Here's a couple of pics I took this week:

The Pyrénées - from near Mirepoix:

The Pyrénées - from near Léran:

  8.
Was anyone else at Knebworth in 1975 when they played Dark Side of the Moon, all the way through?  I was sufficiently up the hill not to have to stand up and listened to it all, lying on my back watching the stars.
Hi Cathy, I wasn't allowed to go far from home in '75 (age 13) but saw the Floyd play in 1990 at Knebworth [8-|] and also at Maine Road (footie stadium?) in Manchester - can't remember the year, late 80s, maybe even 1990 too?

Lying on your back watching the stars sounds like a great way to listen to any of their music <note to self - go look out Pink Floyd CDs, long overdue for an airing . . . > [:D]

  9. My nephew, Ross, was on caravanning holiday with his mum, dad, sisters + grandparents a few years ago when, one evening, he went to ask my mum (his granny) what a 'potato clock' was, becase grandpa told him they were getting one the next day.  Mum went through various options with him to find out what he meant but got nowhere - she finally quizzed my dad and realized that what Grandpa had actually said was that they would have to 'get up at 8 o'clock' tomorrow as they were going sightseeing for the day! [:D][:D]

  10. OK, I have to ask, since no-one else has . . . what's happ'nin' with the 2008 calendar then?  [8-)]  Was that sorted out a year ago?  [:P]

So, having just discovered this thread, can I put myself forward for January 2010 (might have a chance of losing a stone or five by then!!)? [:D][:D] - or, maybe make that December 2010 . . . [:$]

  11. They're lovely londoneye - we're going through the same process as you did, introduced a puppy (at 8 months, very boisterous + playful) to our 12 and 15 year old cats!  Puppy now knows his place and still wants to play but keeps his distance from them although we have hopes that the younger cat may end up cuddling up with him - there are some hopeful signs (including the cat lying in his basket with the dog on the cold tiled floor next to it looking longingly at cat and basket) [:D] - as for the older one, I don't think it'll ever happen [6]

BTW, are you sure that's a mouse your cat caught - looks more like a snake to me [:D][Www]

  12.
Hi there

I am not sure quite what has happened, but for some reason I am getting inundated with replies to your "the songs we are singing".  Everyday, for the last few weeks, (hoping it would stop but it has'nt) I receive up to 20 replies and to be honest I just don't need this.  There must be a glitch somewhere.  Could you please advise people to make sure they are sending their repiles to you, and not me.

    Many thanks.
Looks like you've clicked on the 'notify' button (3rd from left at the top of the screen, above the first reply) at some point Foxy Lady (it asks for e-mail replies to this topic, ie  'enable replies').  Try clicking it again to 'disable replies' [I][:)][:D]

Ooops, asked + answered elsewhere, soz [:$][:P][:D]

  13.
Cute kitty CM, what were the bits and pieces?
It was made from a bit of an old car exhaust pipe (hence the title, 'Exhausted Cat' [:)]).  He's also made the following pieces:
