1. Just a quick update on Ozzy (was Tigue, sorry Pads!) . . . he's been with us now for just over 2 weeks and is settling in very well.  He's a wonderful boy, gentle and obedient and very intelligent . . . but always hungry.  He gets on well with our part-time pooch, Picos, and isn't bothered at all by our 3 cats . . . not so sure they're too happy with him, especially BB (aged 9 months) who is the size of one of Ozzy's paws and has taken to sneaking up on him and thumping him before she scarpers . . . he loved seeing Rowan today when she came to visit, and is looking forward to meeting Pads in a couple of weeks . . . and what about that Twinkle, when is she popping by? Anyway, here are some photos to let you see how he's been enjoying some nice weather here until the last couple of days, when we've been forced indoors and had to light the fire . . .
2. I think I've sorted the pics now Pads, hope you can see them?  Thanks Merlin, yes, he's very lovely and gentle for such a big dog - keeping a close eye on him today but he's quite relaxed and lying in the sun just now.  [8-|]
3. Well, he's here safely and settling in well so far with Picos + the cats (even my OH, Willie, seems impressed with him) . . . what a lovely-natured boy he is! [:D]
4. Hi all, well, it's us! Blame Pads and Rowan . . . and our visit to the SPA last weekend - I've managed to persuade my OH to give him a chance to see how he gets on with our part-time dog, Picos (my mum's dog who stays with us while she's travelling . . . which is often) and our 3 cats. The 2 dogs are approx the same age and Picos has never met another dog yet that he doesn't love to bits so I hope they get on together. I'll post photos once we get him here and settled . . . wish us luck!
5. Hi Rowan, I'm not 100% sure we've found a home yet but am keeping everything crossed - is it ok if I give him your telephone number to arrange for him to visit (poss tomorrow morning if you're there then)? As far as fixing the locks, etc, that's 100% guaranteed. Thanks to Pads for bringing this thread to my attention.
6. Great photos . . . I found this big guy in the pool a few days ago:
7. Hey JJ, ça va?  I think we're all being wound up by Monsieur Chien - we've got loads of nests coming down here too and they're the only creatures I'll let the OH get rid of (well, I even rescue flies, wasps + beetles from the pool whenever poss to let the wee b*ggers come + pester me again).  I suffer greatly from the hairs of the PP caterpillars - even using a long-handled brush + covered shovel/dustpan thingy and standing upwind when I'm collecting them (to be thrown on the burner), I end up with huge red spots all round my neck/face + any other uncovered bits - I usually have to take a couple of anti-histamine to help combat the allergic reaction (luckily, they're always on hand, due to my allergy to cats - yeah, I know!!!).
8. Oohhhhhhhh, he's gorgeous . . . what a cutie.  Look at the mischief in that wee face . . . fingers crossed that he's a little fighter. [:D]
9. Quillan, what a hero!  [:-))] Shame you had a wasted journey but you could always drop in to the Mirepoix SPA to see if there are any there that might 'click' with you - sadly, they've always got loads too?  Great news re Frankie, I hope - I wonder if the owners will contact you to thank you Pads?  It would be a nice thing to do and you could maybe arrange to see him again next time you're over (if they live nearby)?  [:D] Jonzjob, are you going to be around on Wed pm?  We might pop in to see you [B] 'cos we're going over that way in the morning/lunchtime.  I'll give you a buzz tomorrow.
10. Quillan, you'll find the address and a map on the PagesJaunes website (I searched for 'refuge SPA' in Carcassonne): http://www.pagesjaunes.fr/trouverlesprofessionnels/rechercheClassique.do;jsessionid=A53DA81329589A5F799CF1CED80F71BF.yas02g?portail=PJ  It's on Route de Berriac, south-east of Carcassonne. I do hope it works out for you with Frankie - I'm only about half an hour away from Carcassonne so please let me know if I can help in any way.
11.
Who cares about the green-eye'd/blue-eye'd one...if anyone see's a Bay City Roller twirling his furry sporran in public here please let me know...[:-))] Yep, I was a BCR fan...tartan strides and all - tried to faint (it was the thing to do) at their Sydney concert in '76 but got caught and carried out by a hunky security guard too soon [;-)] I liked Eric...[:$] Aahhh, the 70's...
Jura, I lived in a wee Scottish village in the 70s (it's now a city suburb, lol), across the road from Eric's aunt + uncle - every weekend they were bombarded with hordes of hormonal teenage girls hoping was there to visit them!  He did, apparently, come to visit them occasionally - usually when I was at school. [:D]
I thought Johnny Depp had a property on the south of France? Perhaps he has two. One of the best actors out there.
Weeeell, local rumour has it that he and the lovely Vanessa are house-hunting in the Aude . . . I haven't yet seen them in the local supermarkets! [:-))]
12. Hi Pads, oh, isn't he gorgeous . . . poor wee guy, I so wish we could take him in here.  [:(] I'll pass on your photos/details to everyone I can think of who might be interested/able to help.
13. Hi Paul We live in the Aude and have found that buddleia, in particular, attracts a variety of beautiful butterflies, carpenter bees, bumble bees, dragonflies, hummingbird hawk-moths to the garden.  Lavender plants are also popular.  Both species seem to thrive down here so you should have no trouble planting them. Good luck with your garden. Sharon
14. Hi Dibble Oops, been off-line most of the summer due to lots of vizzies + good weather! [:D] We live on the outskirts of Castelnaudary (just over 3 years now) so, if you're looking around this area next spring, get in touch + we can perhaps e-mail/meet up to swap info . . . it's a lovely part of the world to live in. Sharon PS, JK, you're deffo the class snitch . . . look forward to meeting you sometime if you're down this way visiting Twinkle! [B]
15. Hi Ian, thanks for taking the time and trouble to update us on latest news re Debs.  Same from us as from everyone else, big hugs to you both and keeping everything crossed for her speedy recovery. Sharon, Willie + lots of cats . . . xx
16.
We registered bub when he was five days old
Bub?  . . . kewl!  [B]
17. Hi Tom, I've just spotted this post - looks like a very useful site, ta for that. [:D] [8-|]
18.
Well, the day after!! Good to see everyone yesterday and P managed the sun. Mind you there was about 5 minutes where she had to dive int her purse for another shilling to bring it back out again.
Yep, t'was a lovely, relaxing, very hot couple of hours - just as it should be. [8-|] Where the heck was Pads with her purse today though?  [blink]  We've had cold, dull + windy followed by 5 mins of almost sunshine + mild + calm then thunder/lightning/torrential downpours all evening!  Pads, do you want to come and stay here for the rest of your trip (bring your purse, please)? [:D][:D]
19.
3 daze yippee..... have you sorted the weather yet ? shorts or brolly ? Actully my bag is so full of tat that I dont have room for clothes so Im hoping I have left some suitable clothing out there. Or I will be wearing wot I arrive in for 10 days!! or go shopping maybe [:-))]
Pads, brolly for some/most of your trip is in order (I think) but latest Meteo shows dry/mild on Tues.  Looking forward to coffee in Carca then. Shopping def in order during your trip + I'm on call for trips to Carca/Castel/Toulouse - just let me know when!! A mardi! Bisous!
20. Hmmmm, might be worth keeping this weird weather to see Pads having a paddy in the Place Carnot . . . [8-)][;-)][:D][:D] Well, if you're drinking coffee . . . I'll have another G+T please?  [:-))] Frenchie - Perrier? [+o(]  What's going on tonight?  Hangover City?  Barman, make that a double for me please . . . I've got to make up for all the coffees/waters/etc!
21. Yup, I'm here too - I'll have a G+T please . . . big thunder + lightning storm here tonight with torrential rain so I think I'll stay indoors now . . . I bet everyone else has gone out to play elsewhere [:(]
22. Ceejay, you've got a choice of car parks, dependng on your budget - here are the current charges for the different car parks along with airport maps showing where the different car parks are situated in relation to the terminal building: Whichever car park you choose, the system should be the same:  you collect your ticket on entry to the car park, stick it in your wallet and, when you return, pay by cash or card (diff machines to accept each) at the 'pay station island' half-way between the main entrance and car park 0. You'll find more information, including stuff about the shuttle bus to the outlying car parks, here. Bonne chance!
23.
We will have to ask the milk monitors if we can have a seperate section for all of us here in Audeshire?? Gawd forbid!!!
No, don't Jon - Twinkle's not in the Aude, she's in the Tarn so she couldn't join us!  [:-))][:D] Let's just continue to hi-jack other threads to arrange our get-togethers . . . [:D][B]
24. Hey Pads, et al - yep, count me in for May 13th too, probably 11.30/12 noon (got cattery duties before that, soz).   [:D] Jon, are you arranging some decent weather for that day then? [:-))]
25.
Dont suppose you could pop up there . . .
You don't suppose right Pads - it's bloomin' freezing here so I'm not straying far from the fireside today, sorry. [:P] [:D] Yep, we'll do some piccy-taking when you're back over - the weather should be a lot warmer then! [:-))]
