  1. Hi Pouyade, I have had a quick look for this stuff on the net, there are a few different kinds. Do you prehaps know which one your neighbour uses, how much and in what way it is given? We are getting pretty desparate now!! Thanks, Katy.
  2. We are currently going through the same problem the dog has bald spots all over her tummy and legs, she nibbles untill she bleeds. We have tried, different food, allergy test (£100) that showed nothing, hypo-allergenic bed, shampoos, creams and sprays. The only thing that has worked so far is steriods but the vet is not keen for her to be on these for prolonged periods. We are currently trying anti-histamine- 4 different kinds for seven days, but this hasn't done anything so far. Vet is recomending "Atopica" a drug produced to help transplant patients with rejection of organs, only problem is the price £150 per month for life. Should of got pet insurance!!
  3. Hi I am also looking for a bilingual/international school for my 11 and 12 year olds. I have just recieved a book from the Association of American Wives of Europeans which is a guide to schools for English speaking children in France. There are many schools listed in the south, if you could be more specific on area I could list them for you- although I have no personal experience so I can't recommend one.
  4. If the loans are in your name then the notice of disassociation will not be of much help as this is for disassociating someone with an ex who has bad credit. You can however just include a statement on your your credit file explaining your situation, although in my experience this doesn't do much good. The only way to really dispute the debts would be to include the police (as Beryl mentioned), however this can be a difficult thing to do in this kind of case.
  5. Thanks very much Debra, I agree with your comment about avoiding the courts if possible, in fact I think we have decided that if my ex will not agree we will probably not go. Our children are 11 and 12, they are at the moment quite happy with the idea of moving but I feel this could all change if their dad does not want them to go (emotional blackmail is his strong point!!). I would hate the idea of having to force the children to move. Thanks again for your advice, Katy
  6. Hi, My French is fairly good though am taking extra tuition with my family at the moment. I have some knowledge of the French legal system but my main strong points are immigration, EU law and Human Rights. I am currently looking to take some courses in areas of French law. Katy.
  7. Hi and thanks for all replies, I'm not after any advice as such just I query. I currently work for a CAB in the UK, we are in the really early stages of planning a move and I was thinking about the kind of employment I may be able to do. Thanks again, Katy
  8. Hi, Just a quick question: Do the French have a version of the Citizens Advice Bureau? Thanks Katy
  9. Thanks Jim, Thats really helpful, I think I will book an appointment with a solicitor as you suggested, just to cover all eventualities! Katy
  10. Hi, We are considering a move to France, I also have children from a previous marriage. From my research about removal of the children from the jurisdiction I can only find that the 'agreement' of the other parent is required. My question is what form does this agreement have to take? Does it have to be on paper? Also is the agreement required for any of the paperwork needed to move? Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to offer. Katy
  11. Thanks for that I will look into it further. Katy
  12. Hi Everyone, We are in the very early stages of considering a move to France to run a Ski/Snowboard Chalet. We have 2 children aged 11 and 12 who have no real knowledge of French apart from the VERY basics. I wondered if anyone has any advice or experience of schools in this area and opinions on the best type of schooling for them. Obviously we are all going to start with French tuition as soon as possible, but my son is a slow learner so I am concerned about his ability to grasp the language quickly. Any advice greatly apreciated, Katy.
