  1. I have been in formed that i do not need to do the course,(someone i know hasn't and has a siret.) if you register as a handyman doing tous travaux and indicating garding works as the main works.? Then only getting indemnity insurance ?(I know it all sounds back door stuff but it does keep the bills down). and thanks i will ask for more.
  2. I am thinking of starting a micro enterprise, as a handyman, i have got a long run of work in front of me, just wondering if i charge 15 E a hour, and put 5 of this away into a bank account will this cover my tax bill. and is there anything else i have to pay.
  3. Sorry, this mght or might not help, in England i used to use a substance called Ventrot, like a bitumen but melts at a lower temp, compaired to normal flat roofing bitumen, and the floor or roof must be primed first. Then you can put a thinish screed over this ( 65 -75mm). Then tile or whatever. You will need a tar burner for this,as the bitumen comes in solid blocks which you have to break up to fit in the pot.A lot of work but will do the job.A roofing firm whould be your best source, if they do flat roofs hear. (not seen many )

  9. Im drawing plans to convert a barn into our dwelling, i have looked at a very lot of usefull links on what to submit for the planning and the the filling in of the forms. The barn is 14m x 10m with an upstairs, which would take it well over the 170m mark, i know the actuall staircase can be taken off SHOB, my question is,,,,,  Is a hallway and a galleryed landing classed as part of the habitable area,as with an en-suit and a utillity room. Can all of these areas be deducted from the SHOB, Cheers Rob.

  13. hi my name is carol and i moved to france with my husband and too children in august 2006. like you i was more than worried about my eldest son who is 11, he is also very quiet and i was hoping he would be put back a year to stay at maternelle school with my youngest who is 5. however this was not possible so he started at the college, a huge school, and i was really worried. well 5 months on and he is doing really well, im not saying he is fluent french yet by any means but he seems a completley different child, much more confident, chatty and very very happy. we all absolutley love life here and i hope everything works out for you as i am sure it will. when you are here everything will just slot into place and i know you will be happy. your son will make many friends and it is definatley a much better lifestyle.
  14. we have been in France (86) for 5 months, and about to complete on a barn, looking for mobile home to put on site to be closer to the site and to stop paying rent, not wanting anything to flash,or to dear. cheers rob.
