1. Blossom What is CELTA? What area are you working in? If it is IT and you are interested in Consulting, please drop me a copy of you CV and I can pass it on to a few recruiters et al I know. I cant promise anything but can try.
2. You're making >100K a year... great. If you can indeed make >250K a year and are still hankering for an easier life... the Dakota's, North Hampshire, Vermont might be easier to relocate to, and probably easier to integrate into from a village life viewpoint. Being a Financial Planner in France is literally a whole different ball game. Most people dont have the finances to really plan out. Especially in your target group. You dont mention your language skills. And trust me those are absolutely critical in France. I am in IT and know for a fact that if I chose to relocate to the US I would at the bare minimum double what I make. Why dont I? I moved here for my wife's happiness, and she will not move again. My .00002 Cents (Euro or US)
3.
Does it still taste like bananas or raspberries when it's a bit older? I can drink anything but Beaujolais is where I draw the line.
Well it tasted pretty much like wine... is all i can tell you. I cant tell the difference between a Chateau Latour or a Beaujolais Nouveau... so am not reliable on that front.
4. Ok bottle # 3 this evening... seems ok. Tastes a little crappy... but hey it is supposed to.   I just tend to gulp it down quickly... BTW no hang over in the morning... which was very wierd. Considering I finished both bottles by myself last night.
5. Well my stress levels are a lot lower, I feel better. And I am taking some time to smell the roses... :)
6. Well finsihed Bottle #1 onto bottle #2... will post results when I wake up in the morning...
7. Well even though the event is long since over... the next time youre in the region drop me an email. I live close to Bethon... :)
8. Is it still safe to drink this stuff. Just realised I had bought half a dozen bottles when it hit the market...
9. We moved with three suitcases and that was it. Of course the dog took almost a year to join us, and came in through Frankfurt.
10. Well I quit my job with the consulting company I worked for. Couldnt take the BS anymore, and Feb 28th was my last day. Am essentially taking March off, and should be begining work again in April (they wanted me to start on the 19th of March) with another consulting company for significantly more pay. Downside probably more responsibility and travel. (Ah well the world isnt perfect). And in the meantime am spending my time drinking tons of wine, and killing a lot of paper targets. (Not at the same time though). Homelife is a little less stressful currently, though wifey is uncomfortable that the contracts for the new job are still not signed. Which at this point it think is a storm in a teacup.  However fingers and toes remain crossed. So on the whole right now things are a lot more relaxed and less stressful. Now if only we had good weather...
11. Pancake hope you have a pleasant experience with France. Now that you have jumped in I guess you dont have an option but to make the best of it. Wish you the best
12. Technically I have a 3 month notice period... but they "informed" me that they would let me go at the end of the month.... without even bothering with such pleasantries as speaking with me. Kind of really makes you feel very appreciated after all the weekends you have worked all the 15-16 hr days staying away from home et al....  I could just forward some interesting emails to the labor department...but screw'em. I have other fish to fry....
13.

Afy, you must have a great relationship to tolerate what appears to be mildly better that hell? based on your comment in general [Www]
Afy hasn't had the best of times since he came to France. I sometimes wonder that he's still standing, but pleased to see he is.
Sometimes I surprise my self... but the deck of cards is falling. I quit my job today... couldnt take the harassment any more. And in true French fashion... they have ignored the resignation both written and email... other than a photocopied version signed by HR saying that they have recieved it... Ah well... time to start packing I guess
14. The Eau de Anything is fine, Pastis/Ricard is A-OK as well. Absinthe by the gallon... bring it on.   Leave the rest out
15. Twinkle not too good... I had my project cut short due to budgeting..and have a sneaky suspicision my wonderful company is going to try to terminate me using that as an excuse. For once I am a little happier with the CDI contract. Am drinking Vodka my self... :):) and looking forward to going and killing a few paper targets on saturday. :)
16. I am 39 going on 109 in a month or thereabouts...
17. If that is what you guys want... well then go for it. France can be wonderful for some people... and not for others.
18. My wife is French and so we moved. France certainly wasnt a move of choice for me, and I unfortunately have had more bad experiences in France than good. My life style has gone from one of living rather comfortably to one of living out a suitcase while travelling through Europe seeing mainly Airports and Hotel rooms. I have gone from a stage of having a fairly active social life to having no one to talk to. What is funnier I had a better stocked bar in India, than I do in France. I would for example drink top tier vodka in India (Smirnoff/Grey Goose) and am now drinking mainly the cheapest crap available. Mainly because in India about 70% of my income was essentially disposable. Even though I make a decent living by French standards, (well above the average) I seem to have no money. France has a number of problems, but seems to have the countryside and health system going for it when compared to some of the other European countries. If I had an option to do it over again, I wouldnt. I now know what living your life in slient desperation actually means.
19. Not allowing me to visit my country of origin for whatever reason.... cant be related to work since I am in IT and do work all over the place. I hope I get answers too
20. My wife actually has no issues with French Ebay... she bought a six place dining table in Oak for 1 Euro :)
21. I noticed that my CDI contract states that I can be fired for going to a few countries. Is this legal?
22. Is it available in France?
23. Personally I do want a case of "Goats Do Roam" it actually is on sale in the UK... I havent been able to find any.
24. I've been seeing something labelled as "Chinese truffles" in L'Ecrelec... has anyone tried it. The real stuff, I bought a bottle in Dubai for what I though was a ransom. However they were runied since Wife kept them on the spice shelf rather than the refridgerator like the bottle said... :( Personally I dont care for mushrooms much.
