How much do you charge for a winter let
helene replied to Petit Romarin's topic in Gite Owners Forum
depends where you are... but having done so much research in this area you are looking at between 400 (most likely) and 600 euros (top end would need a really good finish) a month from early October through to Mid April. -
is there any brits autun area?
helene replied to mark and sue's topic in North East (Champagne-Ardennes, Lorraine, Alsace)
further to teejay recommendation did you know with burgundyfriends.co.uk you have to pay, burgundypulse.com is free and i found more members in department 58 than i did on burgundyfriends -
We have now received all our Devis, all the artisans have had detailed plans and are covering all the work we need. What are peoples experiences with a complete renovation for contingency costs? The devis have pretty much eaten into our contingency budgets so keen to hear from people on their own experiences e.g. whether they ended up being X over or slap on budget.

my partner and I are not married but will be jointly buying a property... does anyone know what additional paperwork we need the noatire so far all i can find is the Tontine, which means if one of us dies the other gets the property without any additional people being entitled to a share, however my research shows the surviving owner may pay 60% inheritance tax? thx

we will be coming up to Brittany for a few months as part of a tour of France in search of a place to settle. can anyone suggest any large towns in Brittany with expat(uk/english speaking) families? we are looking for a town with schools near by, bars, market culture. although we will ease into french living, it would be great to have a uk family/community network to help us along the way. thanks helen

i was surprised by the 25-44 age group - apart from the Alps where are this age group? i am late 20's and in France and only ever seem to meet pensioners living fulltime in france! if you are under 40 - where do you live? h x

thanks all... we are in the haute savoie at the moment - but the property market is crazier than england! we are heading off to burgundy for a few months in the new year - morvan park area when i said family focussed, i was looking for towns which have a few expat families in - not so much things to do for kids as i appreciate the difference between UK & France in this area. just looking to arrive at an area where there will be a few people in our age group to help with the transition easier basically we are a young couple looking to settle in france but dont want to be in an area where there is nothing but retired couples :) we are looking to settle in a small town or village just want the people there :) xx
