  1. It's much more than sticking to posted limits 'idun'. "If the Guardia Civil observe a motoring offence and note the vehicle registration number, this provides sufficient evidence to prosecute. There is no need to stop the vehicle." Therefore IF a policeman walking along a footpath for example, and decides that in his opinion, you are speeding then you will be found guilty.

  5. Yes, sorry thats what I did. I used Eau de Javel. I think I need some 'floc' now to clear the cloudiness.
  6. Having decided to 'test the water' we are in the process of putting our house on the market, part of which is the Energy Survey. Now I don't know if we just 'got a bad one' but the guy who turned up, well............... Started off by saying that our '1 metre' stone walls were bad - no insulation. Looked at our garage roof through a bedroom window and said 'Asbestos' will have to be removed. (The panels are actually Fibre-cement) and I have the receipt for them. (Its not even part of the bloody survey) Virtually called us liars over the amount of wood we buy for the wood-burner. Usually bought cash from local farmers so with no receipts he insisted on us signing an attestation to that effect. Cast doubts on our heating oil usage despite producing receipts for the last eleven years. The guy clearly couldn't understand that we heat our house to suit OUR needs and not some written 'norm'. Not a good experience at all.
  7. Spot on 'Theiere', it just took me by surprise. Water now returning slowly back to clear having crept up on it with a big dose of 'choc' and a big stick. LOL Thanks for the advice.
  8. My 6.5 metre round above-ground pool has been perfect this year. Crystal clear and chemically pretty-much spot on. Removed the cover two days ago and it has turned a brilliant bright green, literally overnight. I've tried a choc treatment and anti-algae treatment and it hasn't made the slightest difference. Interestingly, my neighbours pool has done almost exactly the same, weird or what !!! My only thought is that the massive combining going on all around us has, in some way affected it. Any advice welcome.
  9. All you people playing the 'racist card' are surely missing the point. Fact: An huge amount of foreign aid currently ends up in the wrong hands and does buy 'Raybans' & Ferraris for those corrupt individuals in power. Fact: A lot of this spending is quite ridiculous given the current financial state of the UK. Fact: Argentina did buy Portugese-made fighter planes with money received in handouts from the UK. If it ever kicks off again over there our soldiers would be facing weapons bought with UK money. So feel free, play your racist cards and never let the truth get in the way of a good moan.

  15. Thanks Pierre, Its the Login on the blue bar I'm trying to use - the cursor doesn't change to a 'hand' and I can't get it to register at all. I've just downloaded Chrome and it is giving me the same problem. 'Login-Join-Settings' all don't work. Everything else on the page does Wierd given it works in Safari.

  18. Its a 'bridge' camera Sid, bigger than a compact but much less bulk and weight compared to a DSLR. http://www.panasonic.co.uk/html/en_GB/Products/LUMIX+Digital+Cameras/Bridge+Cameras/DMC-FZ200/Overview/10148707/index.html
  19. I give up on posting pics, Firefox won't let me log in now (incorrect details) wtf. It can't be so difficult to alter the software to allow Safari to work fully - can it.
  20. and am, so far, very pleased. Sold one of my rifles and bought a Lumix DMC-FZ200. It has the most amazing 24-600mm Leica Lens with f2.8 throughout the whole range. A few pics sorry still can't post pics from safari - I'll try firefox later
  21. Will do Sid. We had an excellent turnout with at least 16 people turning up and many new faces. Weather was perfect. Photo and info can be seen here. https://www.facebook.com/tourdregsclubmoto Good luck with the bike.
  22. Wear your bike gear, park down the road a bit, stroll in nonchalantly, buy me a coffee and my lips will be sealed.
  23. Got it thanks. You could always come in the car Sid, Ron (snorkel) is coming by car as he as not yet recovered sufficiently from his accident to get on his bike.
