  1. Coconut milk/cream is also a great alternative for normal cream, maybe you could experiment with some Thai dishes.....
  2. Watch out for wheatflour in baking powder though, you'll need to get a gluten-free version. Kallo make a great puffed rice cereal and with rice milk it tastes just like Sugar Puffs![:D]
  3. I understood that it's still ok for the farmer to do it till January '08
  4. Have you tried Intasure? Pool insurance is included in the house insurance. Kathy
  5. Well that's exactly the depth/height that would be a problem! It's got to be above 600mm, the idea being that a toddler couldn't accidentally fall in. Kathy
  6. Hi C&C, We did pretty much the same, the local farmer supplied a digger driver for us who also collected and poured all the sand for the base (didn't use mortar). We thought we'd need a compactor for the sand but it worked out extremely well without, backbreaking couple of weeks though! Our pool is near enough 10m x 5m and we're on a slope too so half buried and we've surrounded it with a deck, looks fab![:D] Kathy
  7. That can't be right Sniffy, do you mean 120cm? Kathy
  8. Hi Sniffy, We've done exactly that and yes we've complied with the regs as though it was an 'inground' pool. I think the criteria is anything that is less than 600mm above the ground/deck is then technically an inground pool. I'm sure that's what you didn't want to hear![;-)]
  9. Hi Cheryl, We used a big stepladder and on the side of the ladder that was in the pool, we attached a piece of wood covered in foam to protect the bottom of the pool. Good luck, Kathy
  10. Don't know but I know a French cheque is as good as cash over there! Kathy
  11. Hi Andrew, Apart from the pool itself, the other equipment that we're thinking possibly of buying from the States is available in France anyway so shouldn't be a problem re spares etc. We're still only exploring this possibility at the moment anyway, we'd much rather have someone come in and do it all for us. Are you able to respond to my pm/email that I sent last week? Thanks, Kathy
  12. Well how strange! Beginning to think I'm going crazy! No Tresco I'm not American, British through and through, well half-Belgian actually!![8-|] BJSLIV - That link looks just about perfect, will have a good investigate of that tomorrow. Thank you! Kathy
  13. Yes I can see that one Tresco, but it was definitely a different one, bit more detailed. I'm annoyed that I can't remember what the other ones said though. Kathy
  14. Hello Hoddy, There were several posts between my original one and Andyh4's post. I don't remember who they were from but I remember a couple of them were also making a point about spilling water on the way. Also, my original post wasn't yesterday but Monday I'm pretty sure - all very strange!! Kathy
  15. Hi, We're looking at shipping a pool from the USA. We've had a quote to get it delivered to us in Plymouth and then trailer it to Roscoff but it would be more convenient for it to be delivered direct to Brest which the shipping company will do, and then on to our house in Finistere. So, has anyone done anything like this before? The problem we can see is getting it through Customs at Brest, does anyone know of any handling agents or how I could find out how to do it? Kathy
  16. Thanks Andrew for your reply. I think my husband would like to run past you the details of our plans, so I'll try and get him to get them into some sort of order first! By the way it's a 36" Lacron filter that we have. Hopefully will be in touch soon.......... Kathy
  17. Baz, The pool unfortunately is not Olympic size, it's only 30' x 15' and we've got a Lacron 36" filter which according to Lacron requires 300kg of sand. I know the filter is much bigger than we need but it was cheap! A bigger filter's got to be better, n'est pas??[:D] But what's so special about this sand? Is it super-clean or silt-free? We won't be using any old sand, we do want the right stuff, but I just wondered what the difference was..........[8-)] Maybe we should invite Poolguy for lunch![;-)] Kathy
  18. Thanks JJ and Mikey, Our house is in Brittany so a little inconvenient to cart sand  all the way up the country from Poolguy - down in the South I believe? Will look at Zelbrite though, but if we can get free sand will probably try that first - Zelbrite's quite pricey isn't it? Just need to find the correct specification for this sand......................[:)] Kathy
  19. Hi, We've been quoted £250 incl delivery for 300kg of sand for a swimming pool filter. We're in the position to get free sand if only we can find out the specification of this particular type of sand. Does anyone know? Kathy
  20. Hi Dave, Thanks for typing all that out for me, think I'll be printing something out to stick on the side of my screen too! Kathy
  21. Dago, Thqt zorked perfectly11 Thqnk you11 OR That worked perfectly!! Thank you!![:D] Where would you normally find accents on a French keyboard? Kathy
