1.
Question 6 >>>History : Famous Battles ( War History) Charles Martel, King of the Franks, defeated the Arabs at Tours. But in what year? 732 <<<                                                                                                                                                                                                        Russet....
Sorry but it was not at Tours, it was at Poitiers... Matthew
2.
Oh! Please stop talking about B&J ice cream. I love the Cookie Dough one, but since moving here(Loire Valley) haven't been able to find it anywhere. Have to agree with the dry bread, drizzled with olive oil, tomatoes and cheese on top then toasted however I add one extra ingredient-L&P Worcestershire sauce yum! yum! Have a good week peeps!
Have it sent from home ![;-)]
3. One thing to watch out for though, I'm pretty sure you would be the ones responsibles if anything "illegal" happens from your connection, and not just P2P... Be sure you get a filter or something, otherwise if anybody gets caught from your connection and you can't prove who it is, you'll be in deep sh**....   Regards ! Matthew
4. Where do you plan to build ? I'm asking because I had my house built, and it's pretty good, maybe you should give them a ring !
5. If you're planning to buy a used car you won't have to pay any unpaid fines as the seller is responsible of them until the day of the sell. I know I'm not answering your question, just giving you a piece of advice. I don't think you can check previous fines anyway... Matthew
6. And here's MY advice....: Matthew...
7. Ahhh, just shoot the bloody animals...[;-)]
8. Well if you've got DSL, say 30 € / month, you might as well offer the service. Probably it will be just mail checking. What you may do is limit the time of use to 15 or 30 minutes, so that others don't wait too much... I do not see myself put a line on the bill saying : 0.73 € for 6 minutes of internet use... That's if you want to have internet for your own use as well... Otherwise, it is far from shocking that a gite doesn't have a internet connection...
9. Well in that case... I used a company called AST groupe, and more precisly one of their brand called Villas Club... They really did a great job there. My house was build in Ain ( 01 ), but I think they also do burgundy and south. Ask me if you need any details...
10. I'm not sure, wouldn't it be advertising, and is it allowed on this forum...? If it's ok I'll give you the name, no problem. regards. Matthew
11. To me, the seller is empoying the agent, even though the buyer is paying him. The seller signs a warrant to the agent for him to sell the house. But I might be wrong, I'm no professional... Or I might be blinded by my faith... Matthew.
12.
It's not quite correct to say that using an unregistered agent is not your problem - it is in fact illegal to use an unregistered business, and although under those circumstances you would be unlikely to be prosecuted, you would have no comeback if things go wrong. It's also unwise to put your trust in a notaire, not all of these are whiter than white and some are known to turn a blind eye to dodgy agencies who put work their way (it's always the agent who gets penalised, not the notaires he is in league with).
Even though you make your point, i don't agree. 1 - He's not "using" an unregistered agent, the seller is. Herbi is not paying the agent anything, so if he is actually unregistered, the seller and the agent only could face prosecutions. 2- A notaire who makes a fault may face bannishment, so there's little chance he would agree to act anything that cuold make him lose his job. He is a state representative, and knows better than anyone else the consequences of such a mistake like signing a warrant or a compromis with an unregistered agent. Furthermore, such a thing is so obvious you can be 99 % sure it's going to be discovered. 3 - Good faith is in first line here : a buyer who gets screwed by either an unregistered agent and/or a fishy notaire will  ALWAYS win in court, even though is not the point in this case. However, I agree about the asking his siret and carte professionnelle part... Matthew.
13. Hello, First of all, the siret number doesn't have to be on the business card. It doesn't mean he hasn't got one. If you are not sure about him, sign the compromis at the notaire's office, then you won't have any problems. Be sure you checked everything in the house if he is a bad advisor. as long as the buying papers are signed in the notaire's office, you've got nothing to worry about. If he is unregistered and/or has unregistered employees, this has nothing to do with you ; his problem. The only thing you have to worry about is : is he doing the job he's payed for good enough. If so, no problem for you ! Good luck, let us know how it turns out... Matthew.
14. Yes, make sure you actually live in the houses you sell and that it is your main address, otherwise you are eligible for taxes on the capital gain... If so, you should sell way more than one house a year to make a living out of it...
