  1. Have been told by our accountant that it is possible to earn upto 10% of your turnover as an unrelated activity, so on a micro-enterprise of €27,000 turnover, €2,700 can be earned doing "something else"
  2. Many houses suffer from damp conditions, I would certainly advise against leaving heaters on and house shut up for long periods, as the warm moist air will have nowhere to go, and as you are probably aware moisture and heat = mould, and lots of it. I have several clients, who have (or had) this problem, and if you have shutters on your windows there is a very simple, and free solution. If you have roller shutters, leave them about an inch (2.5cms) from touching the cills, and using a couple of small screws and wire(or hook and eye) leave the windows slightly ajar so that will allow air to circulate. If you have the shutters that fold, usually they already have ventillation slats, if not, drill some neat holes, and again fix your windows in a slightly open position. For all those that think leaving your roller shutters slightly open is a huge risk, try to lift them from the outside, to make sure they cant be raised in your absence. If they can be raised from the outside, fix them in place just before you leave. One clients house was so bad, that they were considering selling it, so used this method, and now, the house is perfectly dry every time they come out, as they say, its a totally different house, and they don't spend the first 2 days cleaning the mould. Hope this helps you and maybe others.

  6. S D et al. Having had excellent advice from SD on our grey import (Mazda MX5), we now have a C d C partielle, have changed the headlights, the Odometer is in km/h and have a fog light in the centre rear under the number plate. Is there anything else we need to change, modify, add or take away, before we take the car for a CT and then onto DRIRE? Thanks in advance for all your help, Nick & Nikki
  7. Check known issues with Motherboard and BIOS software. I have a fairly new ASUS MB and there is a known issue between it and the AMD chip I purchased. As you can tell from this post, there can be a miriad of possible problems that can cause the lack of hibernation. Search Google for "Hibernation" your MB and Processor, you may find your answer. Bonne Chance Nick & Nikki

  9. 1 Screw fitings tend to be imperial out here, and you may well be able to find what you want, if you have difficulty, there are 1 or 2 speciallist suppliers around, there is a speciallist supplier in Pontivy directly opposite Bricomarche (can't for the life of me remember the name, perhaps a n other may be able to) 2 I would buy your copper in France, the sizes are thus: 10mm, 12mm, 14mm, 16mm, 18mm, 22mm, and 28mm. They are thcker walled. I would also check your water pressure as in some places it can be remarkably high, we have 10.5 bar, and all joints need to be brazed. (someone will corect me if they think I am wrong) 3 Plastic pie come in following flavours: 32mm, 40mm, 50mm, 80mm, 100mm, 125mm. push fittings don't seem to be used in Brittany (can't speak for other areas) 4 idea of prices for plastic: 32mm x 4m €2.95; 40mm x 4m €3.60; 100mm x 4m €5.10. Copper prices are set locally depending on copper price and what other stores are charging. Having said that just paid €4.90 for 12mm x 2m copper Hope this is of some help As an aside, anyone know a shortcut to get euro symbol to appear on this forum? Scrub that just discovered its Ctrl+Alt+4
