5. Only because its winter , over grown and unloved , with some imagination and work it could be made very nice ... I think the biggest problem would be the taxes payable and other bills that would put people off . If I had the money to put into it I for one would love my own village .
6. Yes but Joe ..... What was it that convinced you she was the one for you ..... surley not just a mini skirt ?? ;0)
7. What a great oppertunity for a group of friends/ family to start there own community. if just say 20 people put in 100k each to live there , they could turn it into a great place to live . especially with the right people with the right skills , builder, butcher , gardener, electrician. chef to run resturant to bring money in , start a B&B ect .... Grow own food, raise animals , forrest for wood , solar panels for electric. With the right people it could be a fanastic way of living in the future
8. Also what about my Tom Tom am I not allowed to use this any more as it tells me where the speed camera's are ?
9. Yes ok im bored .....! But ..... you met your other half for the first time , your getting to know each other but what was that one thing that made you say Im going to marry him/ her ? I was thinking about this the other day while re-reading a holiday journal of the time I met hubby.   3 days after meeting him I wrote in the journal this is the man im going to marry . Why ? I met him while hitch hiking around europe, Picked up in Spain and travelled through France, Italy and Greece with him and his crew, after each crew meal he went around collecting all the meat scraps off everyone's plates then later while the rest were in the bars he would walk out side and feed cats and dogs on the streets of which there were many in those days. 29 years later he still does this while touring , and just watching him with all our pets we have had over those years and seeing how gentle he is with them all makes my heart melt all over again.  Im so glad he's mine ;)) So what was your reason ?
10. Has this now come about ? I was just looking into buying one on amazon but most seemed to say it was set to UK levels so I guess they are no good for my next trip to France in March. Also they say in the small print that they arnt 100% accurate and would not stand up in court as proof. So where do I get one set to French levels before I go and whats the point if not accurate ?
11. Im sure some one will come with a better word but in my french plumbers book I have..... seal off =colmater. or sealing-plug = tamon or obturateur Hope that helps ....
12. whoops that should read feet...... Cant say i have cooked my cakes any different there as I have in Cornwall.... Do you think they may be pulling your leg ?
13. Thanks for your reply Andy . I also thought along simular lines . Trouble is where we are gets much hotter and much colder than I have ever seen 1800 miles north. I can grow toms out side in the summer,  here in Cornwall I couldnt or not as well or as fast as I can there .  I do see alot of simular things grow in france as here . But wonder if walnuts , figs, peaches could suvive -18 and worse in the winter . I planted a fig tree 2 years ago out there it got through last year but it wasnt as cold as this ...so looking forward to the summer to see if it has survived this one.
14. Is there a web site or book that tells you what can be planted at different altitudes ? 21.
Pads [:D] I meant the drawers near the ceiling, not the ones lower down. So what do you keep in those high ones.
Ah.... I use alot of herbs and spices and other small pots and jars , stock cubes etc...but the very top one has all the spare keys to everything , so we know where to find them when hubby loses one !! The right hand side is false and hides pipes ....   Sweets ... after having my ceramic sink I would never go back its so pleasing to the eye and practical ...its so deep I can do hand washing , and wash the dog, plus all the veg from the garden... Im a wood/ stone person ..never comfortable with plastic or metal , if any thing i would like a double one .. but it would of looked to big for the size of kitchem...but will have a double in my next kitchen....
22. Top drawer knifes forks etc. 2nd drawer tea towels table cloths .... 3rd drawer lesser used cutlery plastic food bags .... No not a giant but some one with a bad back .. Rooster clock now in the garden shed ..... where all good plastic clocks belong !!
23. When we moved into our house it was like a squat but one good thing it had was a lovely warm blue aga , something I had always wanted. so I wanted to match the cupboards to the aga , also I had always wanted a terracotta coloured floor ....  For the surface having had a wooden one before we said never again as it was constant work trying to stop water damage , so we went for a stone compersite in cream ....  I like the end result , especially as I got to design it my self so it works well for me . My advice would be have classic doors that can be sanded and repainted when you change your mind or fancy a change a few years later , save a fortune in money not having to change everything . Sit in your kitchen for a long time to make sure you design to how you work in the kitchen, imagine your self doing all the little jobs you do in there , and pay a deal of attention to the hight of your surfaces so your not stooping to wash up or chopping for hours or having to lift your arms higher than is comfortable for knife work..... also make sure you have lots of storage in different forms , drawers (big and small) cupboards with moveable shelves From this to this
