we are in the Charente & when the bees came into our roof & under the tiles last year, the pompiers came to blast them - cost was 80 euros.

there is another very nice vet (good with pets) between Benest & Champagne Mouton.  We have several friends who use him when taking pets back & forth.

we have used them several times now for Screwfix & Lakeland deliveries as well as Tescos & can highly recommend them.  We had them deliver our new neff Double Oven door to door for & even with the delivery charge we saved a fortune on the cost of the same oen in UK.  Thinking about buying our gas hob in UK as well next month. Very efficient service & professional staff.

Under those circumstances the pompiers will come out - we had a similar situation recently & they came out in the evening to treat the roof & chimney.....they will send you an invoice eventually.....

This year it is the weekend of 18/19/20th September - cars arrive throughout the week with big Concorse d'Elegance on Friday evening, the classic car rally to Cognac & back from Geant car park is Saturday & race day is all day Sunday - practice circuits in morning, races in afteroon.  If you have never been then make the effort to go at least once - it is great fun, fantastic atmosphere & yes the weather is usually glorious for the race day...a few years back the Friday evening & Saturday were a washout, but all was fine for the Sunday.

We also went to the open day & were told by airport staff that at present only Hertz will be open for the Ryanair flights - they have exclusivity apparently.  Avis & Europcar are available normally but only during normal working hours............ Obviously depends which horse you speak to, currently you are unable to book online - we were given a phone number for our guests to call (in Angouleme) during normal working hours 

If you missed this event in 2005 then make sure you get to the 2nd International Music & Art Festival in St Claud, Charente next weekend 19-22 July - the exceptionally talented classical guitarists The Katona Twins are returning together with Digby Fairweather & His Half Dozen for the main concert on Saturday night, but there is a lot going on over the 4 days including a Rock & Pop Night on Friday, Opera & Piano recital in the Church & Folk Music in the salle de fetes on Thursday evening. Many of the groups & artists live in the region - both French & English & there is an exhibition of work by local artists, World market & activities for the children over the weekend - something for everyone.  see www.lescinqsens.eu for more information, programme etc.
