  4. Hi Kingshaw thanks for that I tried my best but my french reading not being very good  made it a tad awkward ,I think your quite a distance from mmm lets say alencon (30 mins from us) so I guess transport cost could be quite a bit and viewing would be a problem ,would'nt  it? anyway thanks again Eddy
  5. hiya we are (wife and I) buying very soon ,signing on monday week and this inheritance thing is a bit of a worry to us to say the least, we are second time marriages both have two kids each (grown up one's) we want to leave the property to who ever lives the longest to do as they wish i,e sell and return to uk or stay in france . I read that the tontine is changing to enable the surviver to inherit the property without the tax problems ,anyone know if this is so? if that is the case then change of  marital regime (C/U)  would not be the best option ,any idea's ? Also we want to start a business very soon,  just the two of  us no employees, running a carp fishery.
  6. hello I also will be looking for a static van very soon we are signing for our prospective property on monday week near Ciral dept 61 so if anyone can offer info regarding this I would appreciate it thankyou
  7. Hi while your on the subject of renting in U/K ... we are selling our house (offers in and ball rolling}what we are looking for is somewhere to rent in Dover area or at least south kent untill we find a property in France .Our furniture is going into storage so furnished property is better for us, we'll carry on working over here  and then trip over weekends, so if anyone knows anyone or someone who has anything to rent we 'd like to hear from them  ,,thankyou
  8. so how does this fit,,,,  wife  and I  each have two older kids each from previous marriages, so far so good,,,,I   was a widower when we meet ,,,,and she was divorced, ok now, so we got married and a few years down the line we divorced and split.  some time later we got back together  and remarried ,,,, phew,,, now we want to live in france and start a business ,we are thinking   C/U has to be the best way to go .    but is it ???? I dunno ,,wad ya rekon....  I thankyou

  12. Hello As a matter of interest on furniture etc what of storage companies we are in Herts and intend putting ours into storage, any comments on this subject?. We intend to take almost all our furniture with us whether we do it ourselves or get a company to do it   I'm not sure as yet, have to estimate costs etc and the time factor. Im an hgv driver so size of vehicle is no problem just the aggro of returning the vehicle to uk .Idealy we would like to find a storage Co in the south east(kent area) just  make things easier.
  13. hi that sounds good to me chessfou we have no plans for this cash exactly, just probably use is as  supplement to income so to speak. This is not a wind up as gardian thinks it maybe, I just wondered thats all

  15. Hi all We are in the process of selling our house and all being well shall be looking for a place in France in the course of the year. So I am looking into money transfers , I am intending to use hifx for the bulk of cash, but I have a pension  albeit a small one  payed monthly into my barclays account, and  is tax free, so I am wondering  how I would go about getting that cash over to france and  what if any tax implications are there. could I just get barclays to pay it to hifx by dd and then transer over to french bank ? Not being  fluent on the financial things I thought I'd ask on here first ,,,cos I know your all so clever bit of crawling never hurt anyone just the knee's
