1. Thanks for that, it is professionally installed, I just couldn't call the plumber as he's en vacances! But thats interesting that it should only run in short bursts I assumed if the shower runs continuously so would the pump so that puts my mind at rest, once again thanks for all the answers.
2. Yes it is a saniflow pump but it doesn't do the loo just the sink and the shower because of the change of levels. Thanks for that, I think I'll have to wait till MOH comes out on sunday, its not blocked completely and it does work after a fashion. Many Thanks Do you know if the pump should run continuously when the shower is working correctly?
3. I mightily pee'd off as the people I asked to do the builders clean have put "rubble" the texture of course sand down the drain of the shower, I've fetched out what I can from the traps in the tray but it still seems to be draining slowly, if the showers running the water starts to back up slowly and the pump starts to pump but turning on and of ( I've never actually heard the pump run continuously ever is that normal?) I can get access to the pump if need be as we put in an access hatch. My question is what can I do to get it running quicker as I've got guests booked in tonight, can I use a plunger thingy or will that cock the pump up?
4. Thanks Louis, the 3rd kitten now has a home to go to Hurrah!!!! Now just need to find a home for Mrs Cat the mum and we're all sorted :-)
5. Hi We think the black is a boy and the 2 tabbys girls but I'm not 100% sure, hope this helps as I see your not that far away
6. Hi, yes there are it need to conform to the new regulations SPANC will do in inspection, but in the meantime insist that it is emptied, maybe find the phone number of a company who does it and find out how much it will cost so when you speak again to your neighbour there is less chance of being given the runaround and you could even watch them phone them ( go in office hours !)
7. Still no joy, the rescue centre that doesn't put them down can't take them , the posters haven't had any serious takers, really don't know what to do next
8. Yesterday I was flabbergasted at the increase in a 10 ltr tine of Corona paint, in April 58E now 72E and it wasn't on promo in April. OH said are we now in Holiday maker prices and will they go back down in September? Or are they doing that high pricing thing so they then can show a reduction later like all the UK sofa shops that advertise on TV do? Either way I was pretty p'eed off as I had to get some to finish one of the suites ceilings grrrrrrr.
9. The trouble is now they are mobile, they're destroying the garden and we're trying to establish a business so I can't afford to be sentimental no matter how cute they are we are not in a position to be able to help anymore, they have started to drink and eat a little food so it won't be that long before they can leave mum, they are 6 weeks old next Saturday.
10. I'm having no joy in finding home for the cat and kittens that moved in, does anyone know of a rescue centre in or near Herault that does try to re-home them, I'm getting really desperate now and getting very anxious about sorting this out.
11. The way I remember for stamps, is the blue ones go abroad by airmail like the blue airmail stickers (this might not always be technically true but it helps me remember !)
12. Afraid not, one lady and her husband came, but he wanted a pedigree cat, I can keep them till after the summer holidays if that helps people but they really have to go by September. I tried to advertise on AI but they took it of as they're not micro chipped, its really difficult as I'm trying to establish our business so I don't have loads of time but I'd love to see them go to good homes.
13. Back to the thread, If its a second home you have to pay nearly 1 % of selling (price and doesn't relate to the difference in price from what you bought it for to what you sell it for) to have you capital gains calculated, and not everything that you think is deductible is, it really caught us out last year dearly to our cost as we found out after we had accepted an offer.
14. I need to find a home for a Mum cat and 3 kittens. She moved into my garden and has proceeded to have 3 kittens. I've asked around but it looks like they have been abandoned. The mum a short haired tabby is probably under a year old but is used to humans and will come and sit on your knee and is good natured. The kittens, one black, one tabby and one white and tabby are cute as buttons and just 3 weeks old so can't actually be re homed yet. We've just opened a Chambre D'Hote and I don't stay here all year so its impossible for me to keep them, also when OH comes over permanently our Jack Russell and Airedale will be coming who both have a major aversion to cats! We are just next to Pezenas in the Herault. I'm not too keen to take them to a rescue place as I believe kittens are often just put down, which would be a tragedy as they are so good natured. Hope there's someone out there who can help These photos don't seem to want to appear as I'm using Safari, fraid you'll have to cut and paste
15. I think it depends on the carpenter, it was around 9,000E , its chestnut, without the appliances, but the cost was higher than he normally charges because we had zinc work tops and the handles were a bit hard to track down. He does take orders, he's here in the Herault based out of Agde, needless to say he's really busy !! but if your not in a hurry no problem
16. Finally got to post the photo, been just a little bit busy with the renovations. really happy with the results of using a local carpenter, I don't know what I'm doing wrong cos the image shows when I preview the post but when I post it, it doesn't seem to link. 17. Thanks again,I'll give it ago when I get back, I always have in the back of my mind that its an old acer lap top which has never been the most reliable bit of kit I've got but I'm will to try anything that doesn't cost loads of money[:D]
18. Thanks for the responses, the pop.orange.fr smtp.orange.fr are set correctly according the the man from orange, so I'll have a look to see what ports its using, from what I can remember the error message is only on receiving and not sending so I assume in my ignorance that its something to do with pop.orange.fr port and I should leave the smtp one alone. For accessing the website I was logged in so could pick up my emails but it wouldn't let me click on button in the top righthand corner to access any of that info, I had an out of date firewall so Orange man downloaded firefox (?I think or it could have been another free one) do you think it would be worth uninstalling the out of date Norton and Firefox and installing a recent copy of Norton?
19. We finally got our livebox to work after the lovely english speaking man came from Orange to have a look (some weird setting on my old lap top which I would never have found), all tickty boo except that It won't let me send emails from office outlook 2003 I have to go to the Orange website also when on the website it won't let me go to the page where you can change your password and stuff, any ideas? it says page unavailable ( same message as if you're off line)
20. In Dribble [;-)](Ribble)Valley at the moment when I get back to France I'll post some pics
21. We're having a custom built hardwood kitchen built by our local carpenter, for about a 5th of the cost in the UK,  in our old french house we put the free staning IKEA one the quality really isn't that bad if you choose the units carefully , saying that though I'm more than happy with the new kitchen it has the look of Smallbone or Plain English and thinks its extremely good value[:)]
22. Only used 2 makes successfully in France, a Ripolan (sp) for exterior woodwork (can cope with the sun) and a white professional one from M Bricolage but they are the only ones that IMHO are worth taking the time to put on the walls and I tried a few, with the Euro and the amount we need we're shipping Dulux trade Flat Matt emulsion, I've never found french paint to be that matt. You can order Farrow and Ball in France on the tinternet but not cheap. I noticed in Bricoman that they mix paint and the shade cards are in English, does this mean that they use English paint ( hopefully better quality than most French and not quite so expensive) I'd be interested if anyone has tried it.
23. Babbles is a she , and she didn't really think she could ! no one really has that much confidence in the rise of the £[:D]
24. It took a week. But it's now all working and I'm loving it, can keep track of the Euro on the move, French English do dicitionary and able to post onthe forums
