  1. Christine, Do you know anything about the history of Mo? Has she been around children, cats and other dogs? (could be a deciding factor) Is she fully vaccinated, and spayed etc?
  2. I  would really like to know the outcome for this dog, if someone could contact the home that he is in, I realise that there won't be many, if any details of him, but I would like to help if I could.

    ..

No, I haven't phoned the vet, as, as my OP states, my phone line is out of action. Definately hasn't been hit by a car, as all of his claws are completely intact. I will see how he is tomorrow, at the moment, he is as happy as anything, doing his normal purring and dribbling, he may even feel up to his walk with the dogs! (He seems to think that he is one and gets in an almighty mood if you don't take him with the dogs for their run!)
  4. Notaire in St Loup Lamire. Both him amd his secretary/wife speak English well.
  5. I have hit the notify button, and changed settings in my profile, but then when I come back into the forum, the settings have changed themselves back to recieve emails. I have changed them numerous times but still end up with a full inbox.
  6. I don not wish to recieve replies to any posts through email, and have changed my settings accordingly. BUT, I keep getting replies! I check my settings again, and they have reverted back to recieve email replies. Why does this keep happening? I am more than happy to just log into the forum and read the posted replies, I do not wish my email inbox to be flooded!
  7. While I am not condoning the situation, there may have been legitamate reasons as to why this situation has come about. Obviously, these dogs are old, and it seems to me, by the picture, that they have been well looked after, and well loved. Think of the heartbreak the owner has had to go through, leaving these two georgeous animals. The full story of the owners departure has not been posted, and no doubt will remain a mystery.... and you cannot judge a situation unless you know the facts. Yes they should have been passported, depending on the owners original situation. We don't know how long they have been here for, and we don't know why she/he had to return. I realise what I am saying will be seen as controversial, and I will be slated for having an opinion, but whats Dot Cottons favourite saying.... 'Judge not, lest ye be judged' ..... or something along those lines!
  8. Thank you Chris, that is exactly what it is. Googled the larvae, and thats the one. I will pass the information on.
  9. No. Maroonish colour along the top, and action man plastic orange underneath with the same sort of shiny hue.
  10. Quite possibly, it had large mandibles at the front (surprisingly!!) 3 or 4 pairs of little legs and then continuing down the rest of the body those little funny stubby type feet! Sorry the description isn't very good, but its the best that I can do!!
  11. Unfortunately I don't have a photo, as I am posting this on behalf of friends. The other day their cats bought this huge great big grub up to the house, its about 2 and a half to 3 inches long sort of maroony (?) colour on the top and a pale orangy colour underneath, looked like it was made out of plastic, sort of shiny effect ( think about action man, that sort of colour underneath and the same shine!!!!) They have looked in all the insect books that they have, and they can't find it, and they asked the local farmers, who haven't got a clue either! Any one have any ideas?
  12. Apparantly, in England, there is going to be a summer, its booked for July 15!! The one and only dry warm day, according to the weather people and the papers! So reserve your spot on the beach now!! Here in 79, its getting warmer towards the end of the week and following..... upto about 31 I believe, its about time we had some sun, after all the wind and rain
  13. Thats it!! Its a hoopoe.. aren't they the ones that are meant to make that strange noise a bit like a cuckoo, but different!
  14. Was just looking out of my front door, when a very odd looking bird came into view. Went off to get my camera, came back, it was still there, but unfortunately my camera batteries weren't. It was maybe a bit bigger than a blackbird, beige, brownish tan body colour, with black and white 'zebra stripey' bits on its wings, a very long thin beak, which it was quite happily sticking in the ground and pulling out the worms, and on its head was a funny sticky outy bit, which was also black and white sort of zebra striped! Any ideas as to what it could have been? Looked at Chris PP's site and couldn't find a picture of it there..... and I want to know what it was! I live in area 79....... Thank you
