1. I couldn't sit through that Dago, tribute or not. I think some topical Bombay movies would be in order [:-))]

I thought it was Tr@v
3. Earlier this year, there was a run of posts from people whose E106 was about to run out ( me included). I did all the necessary in January and had a letter confirming all was in order and a new number given but haven't had my green card yet. It's not a big problem, I just wondered if everyone else had received their cards .   BTW even though my UK cover ended in Jan , CPAM don't want any money from me until April so I suppose they could be waiting for that.

I thought that forum had long since expired.
5. Boxers are big dogs. Boxers do need to play a lot and have exercise. Puppies do chew.   I am sorry but it is a pity that you didn't do your homework before you had them, ' we just don't have time for them'  , I hope you find someone who does.[:(]
6. I think it is very nice Dick. I know nothing about wood work but if I could make a teeny constructive criticism ? If it were for me, I would rather have had shorter shelves. The honey pots and the thing you made are both lovely but the lovely honeypots distract too much from your lovely woodwork. I think the honeypots are such a good feature that they would, in my humble opinion, look really excellent in two identical but smaller wooden units where I think the balance would be right between the amount of pottery and the amount of wood. [:D]
7. I've dug out my fish  batter recipe again, it is super if you replace the water with leffe or grimbergen.[:D] and throw a fair bit of salt and pepper in too. http://www.completefrance.com/cs/forums/649517/ShowPost.aspx just got to master fish shop chips now!
8.
Right, just off t'chippie for a bit of Torbay Cod n Chips!
Torbay ?! Vickybear, the best haddock n chips I ever had were from the little chippie more or less opposite 'that' ship (The Pelican ?) I sat on the harbour and had to fight off the seagulls and I want to eat them now [:(] (chips not seagulls!)
9. I use fancine ble pour gateux for a lot of things but I find that it still needs lifting agents for light cakes such as Victoria Sponge imo.
10. Thank you, I have had this book called 'Bretagne au point de croix' by Sylvie Chevreteau for a while and have eventually decided to give it a go. They are mainly seaside designs but there is a lovely ' carte de Bretagne' which I would like to try. It does look superb on linen but not for me, so I will order some 14 count aida. The book is available  here and it shows what I will try to do, on the front cover. (I got it cheaper in Casino though)[:)]
11. When I phoned up whoever in the UK when my E106 ran out, I believe this triggered a letter from the DWP which asked me if I wanted to voluntarily top up my N.I contributions. It was within that same letter that they informed me of the proposed changes to pensions.  Credit where it is due, nice to see a Government agency providing enough information so that you can make an informed decision, even if it means that they will be out of pocket.
12. I don't know about that Quillan BUT the Pension White Paper which I believe the Government are hoping to have enacted by 2009 will reduce the amout of years that men and women need to pay to receive a full pension down to 30 years. I would have a look at how this will affect you, should it become law, before deciding whether to top up or not. [:)]
13. I don't think there is any shame in using hand holding agencies or forums.  I don't know all the questions yet let alone all the answers.  I didn't assume that everything in France would be the same as in the UK, but I didn't think some things would be so different either, eg expecting my bank card to be sent to my home rather than in the UK. If there are services that you can use to help you find your way around, use them for as long as you need them. I am still as green as grass about many things in France, but my lack of knowledge is not ging to drive me back to the UK. Sometimes things are difficult, but this is my home now and where I want to be, so I will muddle through.
14. Sorry Will, I was faffing around cutting and pasting so I didn't see your post.

16.
Anyway, isn't flyin with violinz what happens after the chavs get tanked up on duty frees?
[:D] Very good , Cassis;  You are on tip top form today [:-))]
17. Inspired by you all. I have seen a pattern that I would like to have a go at doing, but the material used is linen and I just don't think I will get on with it. If I try and reproduce it onto aida, I think I would need the material where the holes are very close together ( I don't know the technical terms sorry [:$]) Do you think, it would  be OK to use aida not linen and if so, what type of aida would I need please ?

My Pigs

Gail, that was like reading a page out of River Cottage [:)] I don't keep livestock but loved the book and the program. I remember Hugh FW sent his pigs away and he made it as stress free as possible for them. I wish all people kept livestock as well you do.[:D]
19. Mankind has equipment that can detect a small tent from a satellite but cannot detect anything abnormal in a boob unless it is flattened and pulled like pizza dough!
20. I can't understand why parents pay so much money for their children to make a din when a recorder costs just a couple of euros and has the same effect!
21. 1 level teaspoon  per 4 oz of flour
22. I think the price of leather settees are dearer in France (even when they are in the sale) if the leaflets we receieve are anything to go by. IKEA do some leather suites and in the UK they are quite reasonable priced , I don't know how the prices in Ikea.fr compare though.
23. Turning the other cheek I think [Www]
24. If they are not in receipt of benefits, then I am assuming that he works. As they are still married, then why can't she get an E106 as a dependant of her husband ?  I know that can be done.
