  1. hi all I have what looks like a hazelnut tree (five altogether) they have thin branches and at the top it appears to have what look like the pod (open) that a nut would fall from. My question is, how do I prune them.  There doesn't appear to be 'new growth'buds anywhere on the trees just what look like 'dead' buds which were there last year. Do I just pull off the pods or do I give them a good cut?? I don't want to 'go mad' as the fruits all seem to be at the top with nothing below.  I know this is all a bit wooly and vaguish, but I hope my description will help someone know what it is I am on about!!! All my other trees are showing new growth, so I am wondering if these trees have a 'lifespan' which would account for there being no new growth, having said that, they don't look dead either!  Failing all else, I could try the local horticulturist with my well worn dictionary and translation books! I look forward to any replies of help. Thanks in advance kimberley chadeniers 17
  2. Hi everyone, this goes out to all the tilers out there.  We are currently renovating a house which has a very large vinyle or lino covered floor area, which just so happens to be stuck down with very strong adhesive!! Aside from what i am doing now, on hands and knees with scrapper in hand and chipping and scraping away at it, and believe me, it is taking a very long time and is not good for my back and shoulders!!! has anyone any ideas to help ease the pain and clear up the vinyle covering?? We are putting down a tiled floor, so all traces of lino and adhesive must be gone!!  Any suggestiuons would be helpful, especially those that will work!! Many thanks in advance and now i am going to return to the floor for another half hour scrapping, deep joy[:'(]! Kimberley

    spiders

hi everyone, didn't know where to post this, so here goes!  I have got a book and tried to search on the internet to find info about a little green spider that i have come across on a couple of occassions.  I have never seen a bright green spider before so i need to know if it is to be given a wide berth!! size wise, it is about 1-2cm including legs, moves very fast and is bright green, it dosen't look hairy more velvety.  I have a dorling kindersly book on insects in europe and there is nothing that comes near this spider, so please, if anyone out there has seen said spider and knows what it is, please let me know.  Thanks in advance Kimberley chadeniers 17
