  1. there is a place in the centre of Toulouse called "Maison de l'Europe" I think, they do language classes for kids and adults and perhaps do a French for foreigners course but not sure about this, you could contact them.
  2. Hi, there are a few home school ideas that you could try. These are usually for French kids that are struggling with their studies and need extra tuition but as the French tend to learn their own language as if it is a foreign one (does this make sense ?) then you should be able to get home lessons for your children. I know that Acadomia are one but there are others (can't remember all names) - try to do a search via cours privés etc. Where are you moving to in Toulouse ? I live south of toulouse, after Ikea. There is a lycée international somewhere near Colomiers I think, where the lessons are in English, could this be of interest to you ? I imagine that most kids will pick up the language quickly but extra lessons would be helpful. Hope things work out for you.
  3. Parking at Carcassonne airport used to be free, is this still the case ?
  4. Wow, I am so glad I asked the question !  I have sorted it all out and actually watched Coronation Street last night for the first time in ages !!!! How long have ITV 1 and 2 been available ?  Thanks so much for the info, all i need now are Channel 4 and 5 and it will be brilliant.
  5. I have been watching the BBC channels, Sky news etc for a few years now but not on a skybox (digital satellite receiver bought here in France with non-sky-compatible card slots).  I have looked at various discussions on ITV (recently ITV4) etc and wonder whether I can get these too or is it just through a skybox ?  I can get BBC, Sky News, ITV News, ITV3 and a few other obscure things in English.  If I scan available channels things like Channel 4 and 5, ITV 1 and 2 come up but as protected by Videoguard. When will ITV 1 come up as uncrypted for me ?   Thanks
  6. I live near Toulouse where there is work but not always easy to find.  I don't have a TEFL (or TESOL as it is more commonly called nowadays) although I am tempted to start a correspondance course which costs around £270 and takes about 150 hours study.  The language schools that are recruiting would accept a person educated to Degree level, mother tongue English and would probably prefer a TEFL qualified teacher although not essential.  I have been more held back as I don't have experience rather than the right qualifications.  There are lots of parents who would love their kids to learn English and Wednesday afternoon activities are popular times for classes.  Good luck.
  7. Does anyone have the same satellite receiver as me ? We can get all the BBC digital channels plus ITV News, CNN and Sky News (plus countless others). My question is, as ITV1 etc are protected via Videoguard, can I get a card that will let me watch these (I have 2 card slots on the receiver box) or is there no alternative to a Sky digibox?
