  1. Hi It rained consistently, but not too heavily in the Cevennes and near Sommieres(we had 80mm over the weekend). The river Vidourle was pretty high at 08.00 yesterday morning, but has fallen steadily since. I saw one bar owner unloading fridges and equipment from a van last night. They had removed everything on Sunday ........ just in case. Seems this time, the worst was South and west of Montpellier. Peter The Languedoc Page : http://tlp.netfirms.com

  4. Hi There are many people who contribute regular information to all the forums on this site and I thought perhaps it would be nice for us to nominate our candidate for the: Living France " BEST CONTRIBUTOR AWARD " Peter (wooden spoon ?) The Languedoc Page : http://tlp.netfirms.com
  5. Hi Interesting views. What amazed me me most was the poor advice given resulting in this press release. It has only caused the unknowing to search the internet and find out " what they are not allowed to consider might be true". Thank you for those who forwarded this link : http://www.adamyoshida.com I rather think Elton John may make an excellent "next monarch / president" ........ but would he want to stand for office ? 6. What is all this curious activity about ? The UK press have carefully given great coverage to Prince Charles who is saying - "I don't care what you've heard, but it isn't true. It didn't happen. I wasn't there. Official." Do UK residents understand this ? Or, are they as mystified as I was ? Peter The Languedoc Page : http://tlp.netfirms.com

  10. Hi I researched this. You need a permis for a power boat having a motor of more than, I think, 6hp. There is an advanced permis required for powerboats over a certain length. However sailing boats (defined as boats with sail as main means of propulsion) need no permis up to a length of about 15m. So, if you have a sailing boat with an engine of 30 hp ........ no permis is required. Can't tell you much about UK registered boats based down here - I'm French registered. The registration, armament, radio license, etc of boats in France are more regulated than in UK. If you Email me, I'll ask a friend with a UK registered boat down here how he handles insurance.
