    dog guards

we are just about to take our dog to france for the first time using the tunnel. he is fine sitting in the back behind the back seats and perfectly behaved but does not like the guard in place. eurotunnel told me on the phone that we did not need him behind a dog-guard but on their web site it says he needs to be behind one! has anyone taken a dog on eurotunnel recently and can tell us whether we do need a guard please? many thanks - peter
  2. thanks molly - message in your in box - peter
  3. thanks for all the recommendations - i should have said at the start that we are in east anglia so it would be useful for a removal firm to be fairly close to here. peter
  4. i think we're off to france full time at last - fingers crossed; i'm not sure if this is allowed but can anyone recommend a removal firm who, in your experience, you found to be good? you could use my email if you prefer. thanks for any advice - peter [email protected]
  5. in a couple of months we are moving to 37 full time . one problem is that our house is on a narrow rural road . we will not be able to drive the van onto our land because of too small gates and it will mean we effectively block the road. must we inform the mayor/gendarmerie? perhaps someone knows the correct procedure or do we just hope not many come past that day? thanks for any help. duncan
  6. we are based in uk but shortly to move full time to our place in 37; we make street/house name plates; same colours but in stoneware, not enamel which means they will last forever and never rust! i cannot put our web site address because of advertising but you can make contact via my profile duncan
  7. does anyone have any experience of l'assurance vie? grateful for any thoughts - Peter
  8. hi - sorry if this is very basic! we are moving permanently to our house in france during this year; although we speak some franch we need to brush up our skills and thought getting Sky for TV5 would help prononciation etc. if we arrange to have it installed here in the uk, when the time comes to move to france, do we just take the dish and box and install it in france? surely it cannot be that easy! very grateful for any advice on this one.
