  1. We are on the way to buying a house in France from an English couple who want to come home(!). They have asked us if we would be willing to pay the purchase price in Sterling rather than Euros - reason being that it saves the cost of two lots of exchange - seems fair enough to us BUT will the notaire accept it? There is no intention of trying to mis report the price to save a few euros on the fees and taxes! Thoughts anyone? Thanks Tim  
  2. With 99% of laptops you will be able to plug an external keyboard into either a dedicated keyboard port (otherwise known as a PS2 port) or a usb port. Both are readily available from UK shops, when we move to France we'll bring a supply with us. I know that this is not a good solution if you are travelling around but it's good at home. We sell lots of keyboards to our laptop customers because they don't like to built in laptop keyboards!
