We have just completed renovating our small barn...32 sq mtrs. Sleeps 4....very nice it is too! Question, is a awimming pool necessary? I couldn't care less as I can't swim but we have had so many coflicting reports and different advice from friends etc. Can I impose on all you experienced gite owners for some consructive advice. I too have the same problem....I have tried putting tins, paper etc but I still don't get good results. I have been told that unless you pay a fabulous amount for a gas oven then it is better to have electric....I have resorted to using my combination microwave. We are just completing the renovation of our old and very small barn..no mean feat as we have carried all the work out ourselves including re-roofing and getting rid of the mud floor and mud between stonework! Anyway we wanted it for family and friends to use when they visit but there will be lots of time when it will be empty so we thought we would rent it. Question...is a dishwasher essential....most people tell me yes but I don't have one and as the gite will only take 4 adults (2 bedroomed) or 2 adults and 2 children I don't think it is essential. I have recently been informed that if one moves to France, that when pensionable age (assuming all contributions have been made) that you do not get the yearly increases. Is this information correct? thanks
