  1. It's now official - the other side are winning!!!![:P]
  2. Sent you mail by return to meet at Lidl car park 10 a.m. today - did you not receive it?  Just arrived back home.[:(] I will be in Villedieu (Lidl) at 5p.m. if you want to try again - That goes for anyone else who would like to donate.  It is only 7,20 Euros per tray of 20 cans. [:)]
  3. I am going to visit the refuge tomorrow a.m.- It's not too late to help - just send me a mail[:D]
  4. If anyone wants to ask anything about our house build, feel free to drop us a line.  I have received two comments on the "blog" asking about it.  It would be easier to chat via E-mail.  Will be updating the blog shortly.[:)]
  5.   Ok - We are neck and neck with the "other" Forum - One donation a piece.  If you want to beat them in the generosity stakes then we are going to have to do better - Come y'all - you know you  want to[:P]   Thanks all - keep it coming - What a lovely bunch of people you are[:D][kiss][:$]
  6. Well, I'm not going to fill the boot at this rate am I?[:(]  For those who don't know, I live around the Villedieu/Percy/Gavray area (50).  Pleeeease help if you are happy to.  One can of meat is as acceptable as one tray.  I doesn't matter if the donation is small - it all helps[:)]
  7. We will be calling in on these people/cats on the way for a day out in Cherbourg.  We are taking a donation up to them and we are more than happy to take one for you, if you are willing and able.  I will pick up a couple of trays of cat food from Lidl and sort out some old towels for bedding.  The children want to donate their pocket money but I fear this is on the understanding that we purchase something fluffy for the kitties to play with.  Anything you can offer along these lines would be hugely appreciated, I know, so please try to help if you can.  I can arrange to meet up to collect donations locally - just send me a mail - I would love to fill the boot of the car!                  Thank you all[:D]
  8. Good luck you guys.  Not an easy task ahead by the sound of it.   Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,  nothing is going to get better,  it's not! Dr Seuss (The Lorax)
  9. Try asking your local Papershop/Bar.Tabac/Vets if you can leave a notice about the lost cat - may well belong to someone French.[:)]
  10. YEAH Cassis!!  That's more like it[:-))]
  11. Not had any experience yet of educational strikes - are they restricted to Government run schools? My eldest (just started College) was told in her English lesson that she could join in or do whatever she wanted to do.  At this point I waited for her to tell me that she had helped her class mates or did her homework but............... What she wanted to do was go to sleep.  So, that's what she did[blink].
  12. Thanks all.  I will pass on all the info received so far.  At the moment they live in a a very drafty old place but this is obviously something they will really need to consider if and when serious renovations begin.[:D]
  13. Mum went to buy a stove recently and was told that it had to be fitted by someone proffessional who could install an airbrick for ventilation, as this is the new regulations.  Anyone else heard this or was he just trying it on do you think?[:D]
  14. My money would stay in the bank until the work was finished as promised.  Our builder has so far sent each bill for payment, well in advance of the actual work being completed.  Tough!  Didn't get a penny until we felt the work had been completed - as agreed[Www]
  15. Thanks for the replies so far.  I am working my way through Geoff Hamiltons Cottage Gardens at the moment as well.  Can't wait to get going.
  16. I am looking forward to creating a Cottage Garden next year in the mudpatch which will be left after thay have finished building our new house.  It got me thinking about all the local Fairs that we used to go to in England.  There would always be a stall selling plants very cheaply and it was a great way of getting something new for the garden.  It's not something they seem to go in for here although I may pick up some things at Gavray Fair in October.  Does anyone miss English Fairs?  The ladies who ran the stalls were always full of good advice.  Anyone got any tips for good plants for a cottage garden?  I'm a bit of a novice at this and I'm starting from scratch.  Any advice gratefully received.[:D]
  17. Ooooh you are awful.....................but I like you[:-))]
  18. Have you checked your deeds?  When we first bought a house here, mutual access was mentioned in the deeds for carrying out essential repairs to ours and the neighbours property.  They could have access to their property via ours and the same for us.[:D] Perhaps I should add: As far as I can remember[:)][;-)] It might not be standard practice
  19. Hi Monika, If you click on "comments" and at the next page "post comment" - does that work?
