1. Apart from a nasty explosive (is there another sort?) what is it?
 2.
We tried neuf telecom, on dial up admittedly, it was terribly unstable so we abandoned it after one month, maybe things have improved with broadband. Tiscali or ALICE as it is now, seem ok, if you don't mind them not answering your letters or cutting you off after talking to them for a few minutes when you have need to call them. The don't take any payments either at the moment, for some unknown reason, so that's a plus [:)]
Funny you should say that about the payments because it's happened to me too for the last couple of months i.e. they haven't taken anything. I think it might be to do with the Reciprok points system which I've never really gone into but I seem to remember them saying on a newsletter that accumulated points would expire sometime in November and I just assumed I would lose them but perhaps it's some sort of enforced free surfing to use them up. That's my theory anyway.
 3. It is probably too late for this enquiry but it looked so lonely sitting here unattended I thought I'd take a chance that you still wanted a reply so here goes: It may depend on your ISP but for me it was not necessary (I use Tiscali). We rented for 6 months before finding a permanent home and when we moved I rang up their support service and they changed the number and set up the line for ADSL. You may have to send them a letter, they do tend to like things in writing. Unfortunately I can't remember whether I did or not. Incidentally when we moved here France Telecom told us that we could only get Wanadoo so I foolishly took out a subscription with them as well. I switched back to Tiscali because their speeds were faster, FT telling us we could only get 512K on our line. Beware!
 4. I've used Moneycorp on a number of occasions and found them to be helpful, quick and efficient. I too was nervous the first time but am quite happy about using them now. One caveat: Make sure that the exchange rate on your contract form is the same as you're quted on the phone. On one exchange I was quoted 1.425 over the phone and when the transaction form came it was only 1.42. that .005 can amount to quite alot if you're exchanging large amounts!
 5.
Anyone got this or used it? They seem very vague on their website about system requirements (I have a Mac), but it would solve a lot of problems in our house!Dave.
I toyed with the idea of getting one of these but as I had already bought Airport Express in the UK I thought I would give it a go so that I could use my iMac away from the phone points which are curiously sited. You have to use an ethernet modem (the USB socket is for printer only) but it works pretty well for me and I now have it networked with my PC which is two storeys up from the Mac and I can share my broadband connection. The only problem I now have is that the PC refuses to share the printer which it did quite happily when I first installed it so I'm going to have to do battle with XP again. Might be an alternative for you unless you want the other things the Livebox offers.
