  8. We are also with Britline and have used various methods, but for the occasional and not very large about, try travellers cheques, britline don't charge you for adding this into your account. Obviously depends on the rate you get the cheques for, but have sent it this way many times and only takes a few days to be added into you account Ray
  9. Whilst I am not certain ,I think when you sign it, you are agreeing to all that is listed. If you don,t want all of it then I think you need to get the devis amended before signing it. Ray
  10. I agree, because of the cost of using BF to go to Caen or Cherbourg in Aug with a camper van they quoted £550, we are going to cross from dover-calais £97 and make the journey across. We normally get a discount with the C&C club, but they even dais that since BF have the monoply they have stopped offering them the discount. Great eh !! Ray

  20. By the way I am not saying that this applies to all because I have also seen some very helpful replies from persons who have posted a lot of times
  21. Is it just me or does the number of postings that you do, mean that you are taken notice of more, or at least think you should be? I have seen a number of posting where people have put answers on to try and help only to be shot down sometimes in thinly veiled sarcasm by others who apparently believe because they have posted more times or been on longer they know better
  22. We have just had a letter marked 'Dossier Incomplet' to our application for the following reasons: Fournir une vue en plan des combles Avant travaux en precisant si le plancher est deja porteur et s'il existe un escalier pour acceder a ces combles. We believe that means they want a plan of the roof before work and if there are stairs already and will the floor take the stairs, but are not totally sure. Can anyone else give us a translation of above or are we right? Thanks Ray and Sandra

  24. If you are buying in france any of the hypermarkets or gitem stores. We found buying at Asda in england the best value and then just change the plugs
  25. Will Thanks for that, I found it informative and helped put our mind at rest a bit about a builder who has quoted for us, as he is on that site and has given us a proper estimate in english and french. Whilst I understand the reason why certain people cannot be named and shamed it is a pity, actual experiences cannot be put as it would be helpful, although I know people can be biased. Ray
