  1. I may know someone coming out with one, how much space do you need ?
  2. Don't buy any expensive plants for it Julie as your ducks and geese will eat them first !
  3. Have you tried your local farming merchant, he will sell strong black plastic, which will last indefinately, and much cheaper. if you keep fish you won't have as much diversity in the pond regarding wildlife as they will eat it up. re pond plants, most garden centres stock them, they are often tucked away in a large pond somewhere, even Maisadour stocks them here, who also stock the black liner. You may not see too many plants like that at the moment as they don't tend to stock them in winter. have you any local streams? ditches? you may find reed etc in them. re the fish, I don't feed mine as that would increase the fertility of the pond, which I don't want.
  4. As Peter Owen says your E121 covers you for the basic (or normal) health cover in France, if you did not have an E121 or E106 you would pay 8% of your RFI (Revenu fiscal de reference), which is basically your taxable income after allowances, over 6849€ per annum.   what happens to people who make less than this a year ? how do they manage on tax and medical cover ?   thanks for the help.
  5. We have a couple of local garden centres who sell bare rooted plants, I find they are usually the cheapest and always seem to take off well growing. also a good time to buy roses.
  6. I find zinnias are great in the heat, bloom from June to the first frost and never seem deadheading. I also planted Dahlias this year and they look lovely alongside love lies bleeding, also the tropical plant Cassis, been blooming for months.....and a great surprise this year has been the blue plumbago, bloomed much longer than the white one and still going strong, and of course cannas never cease to bloom on and on. sages as you said are good, lots of different colours as well.
  7. I was at Gaujacq at the weekend and got some super little trees off a nursery guy from Morlaas, but I forgot to get his number/opening times etc. does anyone know of him?
