  1. This is almost certainly the Occitan, Gascon or Provencal for 'river', given that 'riu' is the Catalan for 'river' (obviously 'rio' in Spanish) and Catalan and the Southern French languages are close relations.
  2. Yes, it's the Chateau de la Bourdaisiere. Nice place, even if you don't like tomatoes. But if you do.....it's divine! Easy to find, 15kms from Tours on the road out east on the North bank of the Cher. TrenteSept
