1. Thanks very much James for all your trouble.  I really hadn't meant to create all that work. I didn't get the email, where did you send it - AOL?[:)]  The email address was changed to AOL thank you and I have properly changed that now to another one which will, hopefully receive mail from Complete France.  I didn't get my posts back and the other account is still hanging around, but it took me a couple of weeks to notice that the posts were missing so they can't have been that important can they. Have a lovely day (tomorrow if it is too late for today)
2. Hi Admin, Can you fix it so that I can have back my old AOL registration and after I fix the password and get into my settings, I can then change the AOL email to google or yahoo or something?  That would be very nice.
3.
.I would of hated to have left her on the car deck on a ferry, it must be frightening as the motors of the ship are so loud.
I know what you mean.  We flew from South Africa on the same flight as our dog, about 14 hours flight.  At every stop and takeoff I was terrified in sympathy with him, it must have been so traumatic for him.
4. Well, I see now that I should have checked the "sticky"  entitled, Important Notice for AOL Users before signing up on the forum.  Silly me!!!  Unfortunately, the sticky appeared several months after I had joined.  When I saw it, I added the required email address to my listings but obviously too late.  Sorry if I put anyone to unnecessary trouble and the problem is not important.  I will be very, very careful in future, if I have questions to ask to be sure first of all to do all the proper searches, etc.
5. Thank you very much Cooperlola, that seems much better than any of the ferries.
6. Hi, Admin and thanks for the super rapid response. Yes,  I have done a bit of checking and I am sure you are right.   I do have two email addresses however I cannot login on the AOL one, which is the original login.  I lost the automatic login on the AOL address when I used C Cleaner a bit carelessly and cleared the cookies.  When I came back, the system asked for the email address used when I joined.  The password I used was wrong so said I had forgotten it and waited for the email of the new password.  It never came so I tried the other address.  It sent the password to that address, so OK - however, avatar was gone and posts also mostly gone, I must have opened an account on that one long ago and forgotten about it.  So, the system won't let me login on the  AOL email address and  by saying I have forgotten the password on that address, the system has, presumably, changed that password, however it says it will send an email to change the password but the email doesn't arrive.  It being  AOL,  I checked the spam box but it is not there either.  I know that the system knows the address because I tried to change the email address on the current, non-preferred login to the AOL one but the system says that I can't change to that address because it is used by another member (actually also me).  I hope that you can make something of this screed, I know that this is my own silly fault but is there a way for me to get back the original Miggimeggi on the AOL email address? By the way, I thought that the system would reject a Nickname identical to one already registered.
7. Does anyone know why I seem to have two profiles, both with the same name but with different dates of joining, different number of posts and different avatars?  I did see about a couple of weeks (or so) ago that my avatar had gone so I put one on but I had not noticed that everything else had changed.   I see that at least one other member has also lost her posts and her joining date has changed.
8. Hi Verviale, I am happy that it all went so well for you.  How long did the actual channel crossing take?  We have two very large dogs and litter trays are not really an option so we would like to know which is the fastest trip.  Whilst we have no immediate intention of returning to UK,  we keep them all passported etc. ready in case we ever just have  [:(]to return.  We have not been in UK in the last approx. 30 years so it is almost as we have never been there at all. PS Have you noticed that you have lost all your posts,  I have lost all mine as well.
9. Thanks, I will try that when I go shopping on Thursday.
10. Hi Tony, Thanks for the reply.  Have you tried the French one yet, does it work OK? I seem to remember being told that to get a nice clear glowing jelly you have to let it all drip through for quite a long time without any pressure at all.  Perhaps I am going to have to risk visiting that reputedly dangerous (iro overspending the housekeeping) Lakeland website or else try to buy some muslin.  I have an extremely old, battered side table which, upside down will probably make a perfect stand.  Mmmm, suddenly I fancy some apple and mint jelly as well.[:)]
11. Thank you Pun for that posting.  I fancy making some blackberry jelly like my granny used to make a very long time ago, but I have not been able to find a jelly bag.  I have looked in the preserving departments at my local L'Clerc and also in the various bricos but if there are any there, I am not recognising them.  I think my gran used to use muslin but that was more than 50 years ago and I don't know if you can still get it.  Can anyone advise please?
12. Hi Christine, And a very young 94 she looks.  Is that Miranda with her, you must be so pleased for her to have a happy new home.  Is she the last of the Boxing Day dogs or do you still have to find homes for some of them?.  I really wish I could home more - I would take dozens if I was able to.[:)]
13.
I have just heard that these two kittens have today found a home with an English family in Angouleme... and I have just come back from taking Miranda, our Brittany Spaniel, to her new home.
That's happy news to start the morning with,  a new home for the two kittens, a new home for Miranda and, of course, another kitten rehomed last week.  Also last week I saw on another website that a Great Dane in Spain had been rehomed together with a Sharpei, her longtime companion. It is always so great when two old friends are rehomed together.[:D][:D]
14. What a sweetie!!!  She looks like a Siamese or Siamese cross.  Wish I could help but my dogs are not cat-friendly.
15. I can't believe Utopie did this to me!!!!!! We have about 4 builders in, knocking down & making good some derelict buildings and as you all know, here in France people are more laid back and casual about their toilet arrangements.  The guys have done me the courtesy of not "going"in my garden however, we live right in the middle of the fields...... and the guys have been working here for about 10 days now............. and we walk the dogs loose in the fields...........  See where I am going to?  We went out today and she was still on the lead when we passed a pile thoughtfully signalled with a tuft of loo paper.  I know she likes wild pig poo so we kept her on the lead a little longer that usual but when we let her off, the little cow turned and went into a full, stretched gallop, threw herself down on IT and rolled and ground herself into and all around it whilst I ran after her shrieking very rude stuff.  Now, she knows she's done wrong and so she begs forgiveness and tries to snuggle up to me!!!! So. back on the lead she goes and home for a good hosing down.   Anyone know how long it takes for 2 weeks of poo X 4 men at approx. 2 per man per day, to biologically decay?[+o(]
16. Several years ago at an agricultural show in Africa I saw an exhibit on low cost building methods.  One method used bottles and morter - the bottles took the place of the bricks.   The demo wall looked quite good with carefully smoothed cement studded with litre beer bottles, bottoms outermost. It gave something of the impression of one of those glass brick walls.  Another idea I remember vaguely was to build the walls of a kind of  garden cold frame, as described above but leaving the open end of the bottle inside.  You then put some water in each of the bottles and put on the usual cold frame type glass lid.  In hot, dry weather, evaporation creates humidity in the frame, assuming you would want humidity there.  I never tried it, I always imagined it as a wonderful nursery, keeping all those baby mozzies snug and warm.[:-))]
17. Yep, unless you buy an English disc and reinstall that version you are stuck with it.  I got mine over a year ago now, the computer is HP, and XP and the 'added value' programmes are all French.  After the first 6 or 8 months  of  paranoia (my French is appalling) it became quite fun [:D]as I downloaded a variety of English programmes and the dialogue boxes became steadily more bi-lingual.  I have learned a few new French words and XP has learned some English (as Cassis has mentioned it would).  Of course, if there is a problem with the software, it is much more difficult to fix unless you are much more fluent than I am.  It may mean a trip to a technician although I have always managed to cope, so far!
18.
I'm going to buy a red reflective jacket for our dog this week, one for me as well as I wander about in the woods etc. Chris
What a great idea, I must try to find one.  My  boy Dane is approx. the size and the exact colour of a good sized buck deer and could be easily mistaken for one, especially by a myopic old hunter, or an excited very young one.  The harliquin could never be mistaken for anything but a naughty dog but I love her [:D]so I will get her one as well. Thanks very much for the info. and the idea.
19. Does anyone know when the hunting season opens in the Dordogne this year?  We had forgotten about it and we were just about to walk the dogs, loose, across the fields when we remembered about it.  As one of our dogs has lately developed a touch of selective amnesia where the recall is concerned we have decided that she must be kept on a lead during the season when she is out of our garden.  The havoc she could create if she got caught up in the middle of a hunt doesn't bear thinking about.
