1. Today letter came from CPAM, they always come on a saturday!!  It states Beneficiare: my hubby Object:: Demande d'exoneration du ticket modérateur He has to go for an appointment with a Doctor at local CPAM next week. If he doesn't turnup all health co_er will be cancelled. We are on an E121!!! Last time we were at Doctors he said he was going to send forms to CPAM for ALD for hubby's peripheral arterial disease. I am assuming the latest letter from CPAM is related to this, might be wrong. One paragraph of letter says ' En l'absence de piéce d'identité, et, conformément à l'article 27 de la loi no2004/810 du 13 aoùt 2004 le Praticien Conseil ne pourra pas _ous rece_oir I searched the world for article 27 today without success and wonder if anyone can help with it's content. We are harrassed to death by CPAM this year, managed to deal with all they thow at us but my interpretation of this letter is  If we can't produce id doctor won't see us, if we don't see doctor healthcare is cancelled. Time to pack the suitcase yet again with all papers and camp out in the CPAM. Think I'll take a bottle of brandy this time, can you sue the CPAM for foie damage? Please excuse the spaces marked _ the key between u_w refuses to work.
2. Thanks to you Will I think the problem is sol ed. AE definitely sounds like the answer.Nice to know it is straightforward in practice.
3. Many thanks Will.  I will be self-employed so autoentrepreneur might be the answer. I did look at the website but initially thought I would be in another health regime. Will look again at the site. Thanks again
4.  Many thanks also Coops for your referral. For a few days I hae been toying with whether to take on a part time job mainly as a 'hobby'. I am on an E121 with hubby as dependant. Jumped through lots of hoops with CPAM during last couple of years so would rather not take the work if it messes anything up.Will contact Angela Francoise [:D]
5. Had the same problem dish needed realigning just a tiny bit.
6. Can you really be living full time in France and UK domiciled. Definitely yes now that private health insurance is legal again in France.
7. Very interesting [:D] Same here got stung several times in UK with no reaction. First wasp sting in France and leg was twice it's size and bright red.
8. Totaa is it just a campsite you want to put up your your own tents or do you want caravan/ chalet accommodation?
9. Thanks Teapot for the information. Chemicals are always balanced so will cut down on the filtration. Just a thought are you the same Teapot who posts on KSFIOM?
10. In June, July and August I never turn the filtration off. In 20 years in SW France the pool has always been sparkling no green problems and the water always 'feels' right. Beginning to wonder if I am overdoing it [8-)]
11. Hello Ernie, have heard of a few pools in the area turning green. Probably due to chlorine being burnt off quickly in the  40 something temperatures we have been having. Extra chlorine and running the filtration 24 hrs usually solves the problem. We always run the filtration 24 hrs when the 'warm ' temperatures start. What are the chlorine and ph readings with your testing kit?
12. Thanks Sweet for reminding me that leeks are Welsh. We lived in N Wales for a few years and felt very at home, I think if we ever returned to the UK we would go back there. I guess I always associate Wales with daffodils because I am a 'geordie' girl and think of the annual leek shows in Northumberland where it was such a big event and first prize was a television or fridge. In those days such prizes were worth an awful lot. Thanks again for the memory [:D]
13. Will never admit to being a cook but even OH who isn't keen on salmon will eat this- SPEEDY SALMON & LEEKS 700g finely sliced leeks 3 tbsp olive oil 2 tsp wholegrain musard 2 tbsp clear honey juice half lemon 250g cherry tomatoes halved 4 x 175g skinless salmon fillets Put leeks into microwave dish, sprinkle with 2 tbsp water. Cover dish with cling film & pierce a couple of times. Cook on high for 3 mins stand for 1 min. Whisk olive oil, mustard, honey and lemon juice together season with s&p. Scatter tomatoes on top of leeks & spoon over half of sauce. Lay salmon fillets on top of veg and spoon remaining sauce over them. Replace cling film and cook on high for 9 mins. I don't usually cook in the microwave but this seems to work well. I'm sure it could be adapted for conventional cooking. PS You might want a bit more lemon juice and less honey if you don't like sweet things. PPS Sweets, have you come across this site www.bbcgoodfood.com You just type salmon or whatever takes your fancy into Search Good Food Recipes.
14. Perhaps they are starting to 'cutback' on everything, received letter from CPAM today saying that for our CMU to continue we have to prove residency.Got a list of things to produce including a Carte Sejour. This is going to be interesting we have lived in France since 1990 and have been in the CMU since it was deemed illegal to have private insurance. Busy packing the suitcase full of papers to take.Oh they also told us we had to register with a doctor or we wouldn't get reimbursed, apart from this being contradictory we have attestation from them endorsed with 'a déclaré un medecin traitant' I've got a feeling some new memos have been issued.
15. Thank you so much for the replies. The signal strength and quality are around the 50% mark, the quality sometimes higher, but these were the highest figs that could be achieved when system was installed. All was well for years then last year just in time for the Grand Prix we lost ITV. We had the LNB replaced and all was well again until this week just before the Grand Prix. Will do an unplug so that we can watch the qualifying today but obviously don't want to do too many unplugs. Have just checked ClassicFM and get 'no satellite signal' so looks like I need to get out the climbing shoes and start tweaking. Many thanks for the help.
16. What is going on, for the last couple of days we can only get the 'five' channels and Channel 4. BBC1 and ITV3 are pixeled the rest are showing a blue screen. Just in time for the Formula 1 Grand Prix again.[:'(] We sometimes get some of them back for a short time if we unplug etc.
17. This happens to us frequently. Neither us or France Telecom know why [:D] Usually lasts for at the most four days and then back to as those it never happened.
18.
thank you all so very much for your replies to what I thought would be a simple question-I didn't intend to start WW3!! Now, I was thinking of asking a question about healthcare......................[:)]
Whatever you do don't start me off on the French Health Service [6]
19.
Thats nonsense sorry Will. It's like saying the bank can take all your money if you leave the country.
It's true though. Couldn't open a UK bank account without a UK address therefore IOM Bank have taken all my money. What a funny world.
20. Thank you very much Sweet & RH for your thoughts. Feeling a bit better today, the reason the film crew didn't arrive was because after looking into it they realised we were below the compensation limit. The worry is all the rumours flying around about the IOM compensation scheme. JR - just seen on the news that Icesave savers will be receiving letter from the FSA/FSCS explaining how to claim.
21. 86er take consolation in the fact that the client might really regret his choice a couple of years on.
22. J.R Many thanks for the link, as you guessed I have made contact. I am back in France because one of the main UK TV Channels was due to fly here and interview us. They didn't arrive and I am feeling very sad. Not just for me but for a world that still differentiates between how much you have and have not. If I have perhaps temporarily,or who knows totally lost my life savings  then it doesn't matter what value they have if I haven't got a penny now.
23.
Is the UK not the financial capital of the world? I totally believe that most people in their day to day business in the banking community have only a narrow view of what is happening and there are an elite few at the the top of the pile who control things. They will be creaming off the billions poured in now and we will see the same crisis occurring in a few months time.
It happened in a few days not a few months [blink]
24. Krusty I do hope you got answers for your questions from the Customer Services. I am back in the UK got a factory job starting six tomorrow morning. Unbelievable situation but it just shows how quickly it can happen and things change. Best to have all your i's dotted etc. Trying to get my head around working in a factory to pay the tax,  CRDS & CSG due on the savings next month to the French Government.  Guess no help from them.
25. Krusty you could try phoning  the Customer Services of The Financial Service Compensation Scheme the number is 020 78927300
