    The snip.

Ive recently paid about 86E for my cat being spayed but a friend paid 118E for the snip I've no idea. My lab dog had the snip for 130E so i'd think it'd be cheaper than that as that was quite involved as he had a cyst removed at the same time.
  2. i'm lucky as I have an english speaking specialist at the hospital but I've found reading baby magazines have helped my language especially. Good luck and let me know how you get on as I've only got another 3 months to go.
  3. I had to complete one for my maternity payments but it was for 2002. I enclosed a copy of my husbands p60 or payslips if it had been for this year. Calculated it into euros using present roe and noted it for them, then wrote down what the gross, tax and net was. Havent heard anything from them so assume it was filled in ok.
  4. The hospital gave me the first of many forms to send off to CPAM and CAF and this was when I was nearly 15 weeks pregnant. I have today had my new attestation which says *100% sauf mdic 35% du 15/04/2004 au jour d'accouchement* From this I'm reading that i'm covered for 100% except medical at 35% until day of birth. Can anyone explain this please ?? The hospital told me I wouldn't pay for any further scans, check ups, blood tests or for my delivery and stay in hospital after the birth. Does anyone know what I will actually be covered for or where I can find out?? Thanks Pippa
  5. Has anyone got a copy of March 2003 issue ?? I understand there is an article about 3 women who have given birth in France. I am nearly 4 months pregnant and am doing my homework, seems straight forward but if anyone has a copy I'd appreciate it. thanks Pippa
  6. I have such a man who actually lives very close to Magnac Laval, I'm waiting for him to start work plastering my bedroom. If you email me [email protected] I'll send you his number.
  7. My older dog does not shut up whining and barking from the minute he gets in the car until the minute he gets out. When we moved over from se england to Central France my hubby brought him over on a snowfilled -3c journey, thankfully we had some pet tranquilisers and he slept the whole way. The vet recommends them when my lab pup twists his shoulder and needs 3 days of rest at a time. Here in France they are called calmivet or tranquil and are very scary to use at first but in the end less stressful on the animal. Our vet in England sold them per pill but if you do decide to go this route, buy more than you need incase of delays (they are only supposed to last 8-10 hours) and give them to the dog a good 1.5-2hrs before setting off and when he is as calm as possible. They roll their eyes and look very dopey but can still drink and stagger out of the car to urinate and are back to normal very quickly.
  8. Hello Stranger we have a shelter/shed type thing in our field and were told we could knock it down and rebuild as there was one already there but best to ask the mairie direct i'd think or visit the DDE in Argenton, very helpful woman mme morin. Hows kittie ?
  9. Go Solar !!! We're on border of 23 and 36 and will be installing our underfloor water fed heating and hot water solar system in the next few weeks. Not huge amounts more than oil would be, good for the environment and will pay for itself in a few years and hardly any bills again except if we have very very bad winters.
  10. I know of a great B&B in Azerables (dept 23) just off jnct 21 of the A20, very nice English couple who run it. Can mail you the telephone number and email addy if interested.

    Diabetes

    >I am 60 and have diabetes > type 2 ( just >pills) hypertension and glaucoma. What >would I be expected to >pay for my considerable amount >of medication? These are >only conditions,I am really very >healthy!! My husband has type 2 but only 31, he is also just on tablets, you apply via your french doctor to CPAM for an attestation saying that you will get 100% remboursement for anything that is Diabetes related. My hubbies tablets, doctors visits, blood and urine tests and eye tests etc etc are all refunded in full. I believe the attestations are reviewed yearly, i'm assuming CPAM ask the doc if it's still a serious condition. I'd like to say he has had EXCELLENT treatment here and much much better than he received in the UK.
  12. We have now been in France for a full tax year and have our CDS, do we have to obtain a tax form for completion for the year 2002. We are getting different advice, some saying we need to ask centre d'impots for the forms, some saying wait till we get sent them and other advising we wont need to fill a tax form until we've been in France two whole years. Anyone able to confirm which advice is correct ??? Thanks
  13. My husband is on tablets for his diabetes and was a bit concerned when moving over here. He couldn't ask for better care though, he has monthly blood tests and visits to the doctor, they've changed his dosage to be right for his size and he is feeling much much better and his blood sugar level is the lowest it's been for 3 years. He also had an option to go to a diabetic doctor for a full MOT and an eye hospital for his eye tests. Remember to ask the doctor to complete and send the forms to CPAM for your attestation to be changed so you get 100% of your health care costs for diabetes refunded.

    Top Up

I have my social security number through my E106 and my husband is diabetic and so gets 100% reimboursement. I have a liver problem and have recently been for cat scans etc etc. Very impressed by the service. Is it possible for me to pay for a top up insurance with an E106 ??? We will be paying french tax on our Worldwide income next year but as this is our first full year here are not at the moment. If it is, any advice on where to start looking. Thanks
