  1. I have just found a supplier of goods at trade prices and would like to eventually open a retail outlet. However, my plan is to test the water by beginning by selling at brocantes and then hopefully graduating to a market stall and then..... Does anyone know:- Q1 Do I need permission etc to sell at a brocante? and at markets? Q2 How do I find out when and where the brocantes are? Maybe there is an organisation to whom I should put my questions? Thanks in advance Kevin
  2. My 18 yr old son has just left school and has quite a good understanding of the french language, however, he is having real problems trying to get a job. He wants to become a plumber but cannot find a patron. We would be really grateful if anyone has any advice on where we could try.We are near Saintes.
  3. Could someone please advise us on the best way to sell our house and gites in France. We are amazed at the lack of competence of French agents, and for that the buyer pays exorbitant fees. For example, for our house/gites we will get 450,000 euros but with agents fees the price is nearer 500,000. However, the point is this: we are using 4 agents in France to sell our property and we are not getting any visitors so we looked on the website of each and one of them did not have our place advertised and the others had neglected to mention the fact that the house also had gites and therefore an income. We are wondering if it is best to advertise in England and if we did not sell through a French agent does that mean that the buyer would save on fees? Thanks in advance for your advice
