  1. Hi Cooperlola, Jut wondering how's it all going? Hope the insurers have decided and all is well that end - but how you doing healthwise?
  2. I have downloaded the new Gov. Paper and taken a translation for when my turn comes...
  3. We've got (our first) Avis and notification as usual for the Tax Fonciere - pay all by DD, so no worries there. Just the CPAM thing to sort out in November. We have to wait until then for the letter from the UK - they won't send it earlier.
  4. I hate to think - I know there's meant to be estrogen (Spelling -sorry), but we ladies don't have large teeth (do we?). That's what she was told at the place that did the feet - they have to use the water they came in, but just recycle/filter/clean it, not add new water from the tap!
  5. Our youngest had that pedicure in Birmingham - she said something about they have to be kept in the water type they arrived in. Apparently British tap water makes them grow real teeth or something! She loved the pedicure though.
  6. Over here we have several birds like that - they are a local eagle, called a 'booted eagle'. They raise a chick here every year. When flying you see a white underside surrounded by black.
  7. What I can't understand is that we have always used a debit card when booking - this means the money comes straight from our account virtually at the time of booking, but they still charge us for the pleasure of using that!
  8. Just John, King Long is on the 'sheds', above the 'Gruffalo Bill', as we call it. The area is called 'Gond Pontouvre', off the ring road the N10 on the north side. There is another one before it on the roadside, but it's smaller and with not so much variety. This one is right on top of the sheds 'hill'. On the way down, on the top right - go past Mr.Bricolage on your right, keep on going down, but look up once past the Gruffalo. You swing off a roundabout and climb up off the right hand side to it. Good variety - sushi as well! Mind you that says it all - two Chinese restaurants on the same road, within a block of each other!
  9. We prefer King Long in Angouleme, when we get there! Actually, Geoffrey Palmer always sounds like that! Interesting so far! Not just Brits - but French/Germans and more besides. In our village we are a mix of French, Dutch, Brits, Germans, Portuguese and Belgians.
  10. Glad to hear you're hanging on in there - don't let it get you down- you've a cat to feed and minister to!!!!
  11. It's good to see the face that we all chat to! Wish you well for tomorrow. xx

    DRIRE

Our friend had his Vauxhall Vivaro? (6 seater van) attested by DRIRE in the Charente outside Angouleme at Gersac. They had a problem initially because the van was made at Vauxhall and had no cert of con for the extra 3 seats - apparently here the 6 seater vans are made initially by the company concerned and then go to a coachbuilder for the extra seats, so have 2 cert of cons!

    No pants

If Supey ain't wearing his knickers outside, not gonna watch it!! Marvel & DC comics show the designs, so that's what should be.
  14. I think that the Forum via the University of Life should award you a 'Higher' in The 'Ins and outs of Hospital Investigations' and therefore the ultimate right to moan, complain, get your ear off, chew a chair leg and any other euphemism you care to mention regarding the crap situation so far... which will shortly be sorted to your satisfaction. Keep on chucking the toys out the pram Debs, it will do you good! xxx
  15. Love from us as well. xx
  16. Also, Patrick Gellinet, 2000 Ans d'Histoire - I download these from the laptop. They are radio programmes, sort of along the lines we listened to at School - Scott of the Antartic, Florence Nightingale - if anyone remembers them. Charles Darwin was interesting as they used some of the BBC documentary.Quite informative - love the music - if anyone knows the title/composer of the music to this series, I would love to know.
  17. It's 40+ here, never seen cats sit in front of a fan before- they must be hot! x
  18. Here in Haute Vienne it hit 42 (110) in the shade and is expected to be hotter tomorrow.
  19. One thing I'll mention amongst all this is to let your UK doctor know you have moved and ask for a copy of your medical records. We registered with our local 'Medicin' and she has asked us if possible to get copies of our previous records, so she knows our history. If you have had recent treatment it helps the Doc to know this. Our UK Doc gave us our last 3 years' records, but says we'll have to pay for the whole lot. Make sure when you write to your Doc in UK you let him/her have the name of your new Doc in France and your new address. Also let your old dentist know you've moved. This stops them sending out reminders etc.
  20. Mr Coops, let's hope this 'further tidying up' is the last and Debs can finally get some rest from all the pfaffing around.... Love to you both.
  21. We don't worry really about the colour - but what's with that 'wet' stuff you can buy? Never mind Izal tracing paper! x Mind you Cooperlola, bet you're glad to use anything soft at present! x
  22. Welcome Back Mrs.C - just let him look after you.....
  23. So Mrs C, i think I guess what you lost..... - the first we had was a PA Cresta! After that was a bright orange Mk 01 Capri - the original one with fins - even my brother had one - the front windows wound down, taking the central pillar with it, so when the rear windows were wound down made a sort of hard top - my brother's version had a sun roof which was canvas and when open from the front windscreen, made the car a real convertible. Then there was the original mini FAH708C, (nearly nicked from Southfields). Then the white Mk1 Escort 2 door (nicked from Gipsy Hill & never seen again). Then the 2-door Morris Marina hatchback, followed by the bright lime green VW Golf GTi. Bearing in mind I was writing and test-driving cars at this time for the newspaper i was writing for - doing JC's job before him (and I ride motorbikes). Drove everything from the James Bond Lotus to a Testarossa to a Saab and even a Skoda Fabia!!! Beware ol little old grey-haired ladies - they've had a past!
