1. Looking at the map, you take the ring road to the right, aiming for St Gregoire.  You go through here, past the Clinic St Vincent, over the flyover, two roundabouts (if you go right at the first you arrive at Geant and lots of motorways) then you will see the sign for Rennes followed by some traffic lights.  Turn right here, you will see Lidl, go left and the Bonasie is just along a bit. Thats all chinese to me..................................... BONASIE................... is that the chinese equiv. of one of those Bonsai trees
2. In other words Anglais encompasses Scottish and Welsh as well as English And also Northern Irish people.
3. From September 2004!! Ifyou are English they now say that you do not need one, anymore!!   Juxt..... surely you mean................ BRITISH!................
4. Just wondering where you got this little snippet from? From 30 years of experience I'm not going to bother going into the reasons why you are both wrong to term these people hackers, suffice to say that your information & sources are incorrect and I would suggest that in future you take the time to do some reasearch before stereotyping. Research??? god sake I was in at the begining. Stereotyping??? who exactly???? Microsoft software developers?? don't make me laugh Boghound: Hacking has been going on for donkeys years....... nowt to do with spotty kids.
5. Believe me when I say the French cannot believe what the Brits eat at times and are not afraid to come forward and tell you so either, often in gurgling noises and exaggerated hand waving motions.. Gawd! That's what T.T. was trying to tell me! Here's me thinking  I had made the curry too hot! (do him a chinese next time instead)
6. I'm so glad you said that, I thought we were the only ones that do that! Makes you think though..... perhaps its NOT french people in the supermarket but Brits pretending to be French!
7. To quote "i hate this f....... life, I don't want to be f.......g poor anymore , you look after the f....... kids. etc etc.  Nope wasn't me...............................
8.
can someone please try to answer me a question regarding assedic i have just completed a 10 month seasonal contract on a french contract. 4 months ago i had an accident at work which meant i was paid...
As far as I know you need at least 6 months full time work to qualify BUT it also depends on what time period they use to calculate your contributions.
9. although I do like it when it melts on muffins, crumpets, toast, potatoes Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!! Can I come and visist!
10. "Au final, l’Imbécile porte bien son nom : c’est un journal plutôt de droite, pseudo intellectuel et culturel, dont les articles ressemblent plus aux ragots du bistrot du coin qu’à des enquêtes." My thats really outstanding stuff. I'm sorry you where not able to comprehend it's meaning but there you go
11.  After they may return to secondary school in the uk for a year to improve their english That actually would be my biggest concern about the kids...............the abrupt stop to learning good English. I know they have that crap "apple pie" at school and I do feel they have perhaps fell behind on this aspect. Tresco, I fully agree that one should not seek kids "Permission" but I feel perhaps a small "consultation" would do no harm.
12. I suffer from this a lot now - a lot of commercial sites are very choosy about who they communicate with. For example I found myself unable to buy a shed this evening... Maybe it wouldn't fit into an email!?
13.
Elaine, thats fine for the parents, and what they go through, apart from where children are concerned. Just how thick do you expect your teenagers skin to be? How 'thick' was your 'skin' at 15 or 16...
Mine was thick! I think the kids today need more backbone instilled in them and that parents should stop bitching about how my little tessa has to actually get out of bed and do something. At 15 I had to get out of bed at 5am, walk 2 miles to catch the bus to take me 30 miles to where I served my apprenticeship. Same for return journey, I wasn't home until near 7 pm (and no it wasn't in the dark ages).  You will probably find that the Brits are the only race on the planet that let their teenagers dictate to them. Did any of you actually discuss moving to France with them? Did all of your family agree to move to France? If yes get on with it, if no then the move was seriously flawed to start with. You can argue all you want with this post BUT if you actually sit down and think about what I have said before blowing hot and cold you will realise I'm right!
14.
Could be the time of year as I renewed mine and the childrens earlier in the year.....took 4 days! Make sure you check all the details, they had spelt our youngest daughters surname wrong(we all have...
Same here! Couldn't believe how fast it was!
15.
Charlotte3. I have read through the debacle and wonder why you want everyone to pick on me? We too took our car for its CT in hope and passed.....we were quite prepared to wade through various scrapy...
Let's just say she's trying to divert attention
16.
There is in depth coverage of XP SP2 problems and many others on www.windowsbbs.com. It's free and they have a number of experts who haved solved many of my own niggling problems with XP.
Thanx for the website I'll give a look!
17. Thanks for that Miki........... at least that has now fully answered that question and I must concede defeat
18. Absolutely correct RH I think it does revolve around the integration thing (although they are never going to admit they are wrong about the pricing of houses!). I find when working with them the first question I get is " why do you want to live in France?" Once that is answered it's plain sailing from there as they will moan to your face about Brits, houses, Tony Blair, Bush etc. etc. without batting an eyelid treating you as one of them and expecting you to agree with everything. Of course they disagree with everything you say
19. Has anyone tried (or will be trying) wanadoo's new "booster" offer? Interested to see if it "works" since wanadoo is pretty lame at the best of times but not sure I want to fork out another 3 euros a month Just wondering if it will be any better than some of the public domain web cache programs?
20.
Can you volunteer to work in a Emmaus(spelling?)?
As far as I know (please feel free to correct this) the answer is no, because it is homeless people who work for them in exchange for shelter & food.
21.
Just as a side issue. Some "kind" person has "spoofed" my mail address from someone's address list and I'm getting (100+) mailer returns. So always make sure you run a virus checker (any one free or...
I run a spam catcher K9 and although it does work perfectly well it does slow everthing else down. You can also use (to some extent) the message regulations in outlook express to filter emails.
22. With relationship to free software like firewalls etc. There is no such thing as a free lunch. Often these programs gather information and send it to a third party, nothing nasty just information on your habits for marketing use. Yup read my post. I would also agree with installing the latest update although if it causes you problems you have to do what you gotta do One thing I should have pointed out, it's best not to run 2 firewalls at once (as in windows & a 3rd party firewall) as this can cause problems and slow downs.
23.
I'm using the free "limited" Zone Alarm (at the moment). I'm not sure if I have a problem with ZoneAlarm stopping hard disk checks. I have an NTFS drive and can check the disk (with surface sca...
It may have been whatever version I was running. I only discovered what the problem was via microsoft hardware forum. Most of the incoming traffic is nothing to worry about, but there are certain programs that search for specified data numbers on specific ports (sorry cannot remember the digits) that are actually looking for an inadvertainly installed "Back door" such as Back orifice which will act as a server allowing full access to your computer. So I do think it is worth investing in something like zonealarm. It's also worth checking out some of the "adaware" software which *may* detect some of these backdoors although their main aim is finding trackers etc (as in cookies) which can transmit info about you and your machine (Big Brother). Try ad-aware 6 (Freeish) and xsoftspy. You'll be amazed at what's happening in your computer!
