1.
As someone living in the Potteries and knowing lots of Potters at all levels, can I just add that it will leak.
Only if you put liquid in it Richard [:-))]
2. At long last, at the end of this month the concrete slab, 3 X 4.8m goes down in our garden at our new, to us, home here in NW Wiltshire. Then mid December the shed goes up on it! Fully insulated and double glazed. What more could I wish for? Still not mine yet though as the garage will be emptied into it so that it can be flattened (the garage [:-))] ) and turned, as if by magique into a bedroom. Then I can have my own playground at last. It will have been well over a year and I am itching to get back on my lathe [B] I was very sorry to leave France after 13 years, but for us it was time to return. It was an adventure that we both loved and would have been a lot poorer if we had missed it. I would encourage anyone wanting to do the same to jump at the chance.
3.
When will people réalise it is a maximum speed limit and not a speed that people should aim to drive at no matter what!! Should not everybody show a decent level of caution.
Richard, when I did my advanced motorist test it was judged on the road conditions along with the limit. If the road was clear and it was safe to drive at 40 mph in a 40 limit and you didn't then it would be a fail. If in the same limit there were reasons for not driving at the limit and you drove at 40 you failed. So what I am trying to say is that it isn't the limit that counts, it's the conditions within that limit. As for tailgating!! I have no way that I can say, in polite company such as on here (?), just how I hate it
4. I would think that the first place to seek info would be DVLC or whatever they call themselves these daze? They should have all the gen.
5. When we sold last year the immo insisted on taking his own photos and wouldn't use any I had taken. Not impressed, but he did sell the place, at a large loss to us [:'(] The description was minimal as compaired to here in England. But then again what do you expect when they have cut their slice right down to around 6% [:-))] In fact ours took a hit on his cut and only made about 15,000€ the sale! As for the photos on some of the sites? Just what does the corner of a dark garage tell you or a view out of a dirty window that you can't see through. They seem to do as little as they can for as much as they can get, but ours did smile, and speak English. The best advice that I can give you wfpTamar is to find out approximately where you want to buy and then to come over and rent a place on a long rental. That way you can see what you a re doing and also find out what the place is like and if you really want to live there? That is what we did in 2004. We took out a rental n a house for 2 years. We found the place we wanted within 5 months and got everything on the move. We then gave 3 months notice and that is/was the normal time it takes to actually complete on a house and had a seemless move from rented to owned. We are doing exactly the same now we have moved back and we hope to complete and move out of our rented place to our new, to us, home at the end of next month at the latest? Good luck with your move and leave the Devil behind, there's enough of them already on the roads in France [6]
6. I have never had any problems with our dishwasher. On the odd occasions where it looked as if a problem was developing I just give her a slap and tell her to get on with it [8-|]
7. Well, at least it ain't the Bordeaux trying to pass off the lovely Languadoc wines as their own again [:-))]
8. well? there were I thinkin that this thread were about caterpillars? Instead it seems to be about a dead language??? I have to admit that it's one of the joys of being back here in the U.K. Not having to worry about the pine Caterpillar jobbies! Although they seem to have enough of the oak jobbies in London to keep them happy there. It was one of the joys of my life to bin all 23 of the traps I had made. Now all I have to worry about is cutting the grass every few daze because of the rain showers interspersed with nice warm sunshine. Between times I just sit and listen to it growing. Another nice break is the Badminton Horse Trials about 1 1/2 miles over the fields. We will have a wander over there on Saturday and watch some of the cross country me-thinks. I have always wondered what they do with the guilty houses during the trials? [8-)][:-))]
9. e RSPB recommend feeding all year. That way they can feed the young easily and the fledglings can develop and by that time it's time to start on the late year feed again. We will be doing that. I am thinking of updating a song too. It used to  read "Feed the birds tuppence a bag". These daze it will read "Feed the birds 2 quid a bag" [:-))] But they are well worth it!!
10. I have found that a tow bar has a certain deterrent on those who 'bump park'. At least at the rear end. Aly still corrodes no matter what it's on and if you really wanted to see just how then just drop a little mercury on it [:-))] Flowers of mercury may sound pretty, BUT!!!
11. If you live in Dordogneshire you  may be quids in? I wonder if they will hand anything out [:-))]
12. We don't have any problems watching British TV here, but I do agree about the French stuff. It's much worse! [:-))][:(]
13. I'll bet that the police are going Harpic and they are looking into it even although they don't have anything to go on. They will pan the thief if they catch him/her! But the sod what stole it is feeling flush! A gold situpon! That really is something to strain in life to get [blink]

Homeopathy
I find it rather bizarre that a rather misinformed and random introduction of electron microscopes, water molecules and snowflakes appears on a thread about homeopathy.
Bizarre? Why ? It seems to me to be the normal in any kind of conversation flow. The ebbs and flows of it make it more interesting in lots of ways. For instance, I had never heard of micron-thingies before this [blink]

What happened to Wooly's post? Surely it wasn't whipped out because it mentioned somebodies far flung belief [:-))] Never mind Wooly, I have found that I have the ability to reverse the proceedure and turn wine into water [8-|][8-|]

Homeopathy
Slight drift here, but arnica...Mr Job says it's cheap as chips. I tried to buy some the other day in Blighty after a rather large slab of concrete landed on my foot. All my friends keep saying "put arnica on it" every time I get a bruise. I saw the price of it and decided I'd just have the bruise. Is arnica cheaper in France? Arnica- containing products seem to run around the six or seven quid mark here, which I don't think is particularly cheap.
There ya go Betty. Cheep-as-chips, or should that be pillules  [:-))][8-|] About 4d a pop and you would normally take 3 pops at a time [8-|]

Homeopathy

That's correct from what we have read and been told by various pharmacists both here in the U.K. and in France. That's why I said PPB, parts per billion.

For anyone who has had a trauma/dental extraction or anything similar and hasn't been given arnica then next time something like that happens try it. It works and it calms everything down and helps with the healing. Ask your pharmacist what strength you need. Cheap as chips too. as for not detecting anything in it TP, I would suggest some more sensitive test kit  mate [blink] like down to PPB
19. As a lot of you know we have left our lovely house in the Aude and returned to the U.K. But I now have a question? We will have to settle up with the lovely French tax man/woman in September. For this we really need to keep our French bank account open. Is this a legal (?) possibility or do you have to have a French address to keep a French bank account? We know that there's no problems the other way around, U.K. account with no U.K. address as long as you had it when you left, but is the French system living up to its normal standard of being different?
20. I have just found this bit of video and I wonder??? Just 2 seconds earlier would have made all the difference to that driver and pax me-thinks. Have a little gander at the one that follows too.
21. Oh dear, haven't you realised yet Wooly that the Egipsions used to worship dogs and a dyslexic Israelite got it wrong. So the true language should be "woof woof woof" me-thinks? It's a bit like the young monk a couple of hundred years back who was given the highest honour of copying the original copy of the scriptures and he suddenly burst into a waterfall of tears!! The monk boss came running over to him to find out what was wrong and the only reply he could get was that they had missed out the 'r' they had missed out the 'r', the 'r', the 'r' and he just kept on crying and repeating they had missed out the 'r'. The monk boss tried everything to calm the young monk and eventually he managed to get the reason for the outburst they had missed out the 'r'! The young monk finally broke down and told the monk boss that when he was copying the scriptures he realised that the monk who had copied the scriptures several hundred years before had missed out the 'r' and it shouldn't have read celebate!
22. Norman, I am so very glad that I didn't ear that mate [:-))] It would probably sound better if the great man was saying it again. Difficult though now he did pop 'is clogs init [:(]
23. He's just a spoiled brat in a very dangerous position. The biggest surprise in our house is that nobody has yet tried to redress the imbalance in his head by adding a small bit of lead in his left ear at about 800 mph! Right ear would do just as well!
24. “The heart and soul of our country is at stake.” When I first read that  thought it read “The heart and soul of our country is a stake.” Here now it's clickable I have to admit that I agree with some of what he was saying, but not the bible bashing bit I'm afraid [:D]
