1. This poor little chap was found tied to the fence at the front of the Refuge in Cahors!!! He is only 4 months old, has had a tick borne disease - which may be the reason he is BLIND.  He has only just been taken in, so no name yet.  He will be vaccinated and micro chipped.  He is an intelligent little dog and with the right training, he will be fine with owners who perhaps have another sociable dog to help him adjust.  He can hear and use his sense of smell to overcome his lack of sight. If you can offer him the special home he needs, please get in touch.  He is currently in a foster home, but will be able to leave for a new home on Saturday, 27 October. Indy is castrated, vaccinated and micro chipped. Thanks! Jouals REFUGE CANIN LOTOIS Z.I. 3. UPDATE!!  Bessie has now been re-homed, but sadly Indy is still waiting for his chance.  Today he arrives at the Refuge in Cahors, as a foster home for him fell through (not his fault - due to long distances). Indy is now 9 months old, castrated, vaccinated and will make a super family dog (no cats though, he likes to chase them!). Please get in touch if you could offer this lovely dog a new home... 4. This lovely little old girl, Minouch, has just arrived at the Refuge in Cahors - a JR X of 14 years - found cruelly abandoned!!  Despite a heart murmur, some mammary tumours and cataracts, this is a feisty little dog who is a happy, sociable little soul and deserves a nice comfy home for her twilight years… Is there anyone out there who might consider offering little Minouch a home with all the TLC she requires??  Please get in touch if you would like further information about Minouch and how to help her…  no-one wants to see this little lady spend too long in a refuge!! 5. The Refuge in Cahors is full to capacity.  With more dogs arriving and holidays coming up - this can mean only one thing for some of the dogs...! If anyone can offer a foster home to a dog, please get in touch for further information.  Thank you... Please take a look at our site, or visit us if you can (not all our dogs are on our site - if you are thinking of adopting a dog, we have dogs of all ages and types - see below...!). 6. READ latest posts for updates on Indy!! The start of this story.... some of you may remember Douchka from other forums - she was fostered and then adopted by her foster family earlier this year.  Douchka arrived at the Refuge in Cahors full of lead shot and lost an eye as a consequence.  She was lucky enough to quickly be offered a foster home where she could recover from her eye operation.  Well, unbeknownst to everyone, she was expecting!  Despite some worries about the lead shot still inside her being dangerously near to the unborn pups, she gave birth without problem.  But quite a surprise for all concerned. Now there are 2 pups left to home…  Please do get in touch if you can offer Indy or Bessie new homes - these two have definitely had a happy and caring upbringing since they were born and are fine, healthy pups - a wonderful addition to any family looking for a young dog. Indy and Bessie are in the Creuse 23, 15 mins from Gueret.  They were born at the end of January 2012. Indy (black and tan male) on the left and Bessie (fawn and carbon female) on the right. And can you pick them out of this lot?? Please get in touch for further information - Indy and Bessie are vaccinated and are to be micro chipped next week.  They are good with children and cats. 10. New photos - 4 beautiful healthy (bigger!) pups still needing loving homes!!!  If you would like to offer a very well cared for pup a new home, please get in touch!  These pups are full of energy and fun - they are ready to learn and will make wonderful family dogs… Jouals Daisy Holly Sasha Sam
11. The 3 reserved pups have just gone off to their new homes! That leaves 4 girl pups and 1 boy... (Sasha, Holly, Daisy and Sam)... they are now just over 9 weeks old. If you are interested in adopting one of these pups, please get in touch for further information.  The future cost of spaying/castration will be included in the adoption fee, as well as micro chipping and vaccination costs (the pups are now all micro chipped and vaccinated and have been wormed). These pups have been very well cared for indeed - thanks to their foster mum!! Jouals
12. The Refuge Canin Lotois has organised a FÊTE POUR LES ANIMAUX... If you are anywhere near Cahors over the Easter weekend - do come along!!  The Fête will be held in the Salle de Fête in Arcambal (46) which is just east of Cahors on the Villefranche de Rouergue road (D911).   We will be bringing some of the dogs along from the Refuge to the event each day!!  Lots of activities and stands.... The Salle de Fête is just before Arcambal if you are coming from the Cahors direction. For further information, PM me or go to our site… http://refugecaninlotois.wordpress.com/2012/03/11/animaux-stand/ Jouals REFUGE CANIN LOTOIS Z.I. 13. I just want to bump Poppy and her pups back up. 3 pups are now reserved, the 2 chocolate ones and a little black female pup. The pups will be ready to go at the end of March - not that long now!! Poppy needs a new home too now - her foster mum cannot keep her or the pups and it is already incredibly kind that she is coping with Poppy and 8 pups along with all her other animals!! If anyone can offer a loving home to a pup or to Poppy - please get in touch. We can help with travel arrangements for Poppy. Remember also that the cost for her to be spayed will be covered in her adoption fee (as are her vaccinations, worming treatments and micro chip). Please get in touch for further information. Jouals
14. Here is one relaxed Lady!   Jouals :-))))) (Thanks Russethouse - seem to have solved the photo problem using a different browser!)
15. Sorry - still can't get the photos to show!! Help again! SORTED - TRIED A DIFFERENT BROWSER...!!   Jouals
16. Yes it’s bad news for Felix, but quite frankly he is better back at the Refuge, where he is happier to join Calès for company, and where he will be walked by volunteers. Following visits and investigations, it was discovered that the owners had given misleading information about their capabilities to care for a dog - Felix has not received basic training, is very thin and more nervous, has not been walked regularly on a lead even, and has often been kept alone shut in a garage without windows while the people were out. This is just not acceptable care for a dog in our book I’m afraid and we are very happy to have him back to find him a much happier life elsewhere! It is very upsetting when this sort of thing happens, but better he is back with us for now rather than left in a totally unsuitable home. Felix and Cales are 2 uncomplicated dogs who just enjoy being together and would do well homed together with a loving family where they can feel safe, enjoy life and become part of that family. Felix - looks relaxed and perhaps even relieved to be back - those eyes speak a million words! Jouals
17. INCREDIBLY BAD NEWS - for the 2nd time (and by the same family) Felix has been returned to the Refuge and re-abandoned!!! He was already a nervous dog, very stressed with Refuge life - what must he be thinking now. Unfortunately his old chum Garou was adopted a while ago, but Felix has found some solace with an old friend - another dog who has been waiting his chance to find a new home for a long time - Calès. Pictures and further information soon... but if you could possibly offer 2 lively young dogs who enjoy each others company and would be so happy to join an active loving family, please get in touch as to how we can help these 2 dogs together... You may remember that we felt that Felix would have been happier to be adopted with Garou, who gave him confidence. Perhaps we can now achieve this for him with Calès. Jouals REFUGE CANIN LOTOIS Z.I. 18. Good news - 2 of the pups are now reserved (the chocolate boy and girl pups) and one black female pup may soon be reserved too. Here is a new photo of beautiful Poppy - she too needs a forever home!! Jouals (Sorry, still can't seem to get the photo to show despite tweaking it around - yet it does show in Preview??? Help?)
19. Whoops - again I can't seem to get the photos to show... problem?? ?Suein56 any suggestions?? Don't know why it works some times and not others! Jouals
20. Here are some photos of Lady P with some of her new family... She's even got a new coat to help keep her warm!         Jouals
21. Great news, the lovely Lady Porcelaine has now been adopted and is settling in well with her new family and all their other animals. Many thanks to Lady Porcelaine's foster mum for caring for her so well! More news soon and perhaps some photos... Jouals
22. Update, the puppies are pretty well weaned now and doing fine. Poppy has virtually washed her paws of feeding them! As foster mum has got her hands full caring for 8 puppies (and her other animals!) - we now need a home for Poppy urgently! Although Poppy will not leave the pups until the time is right, of course. But all being well, that won't be too long and it would be great to have a new home ready for Poppy to go to... If you would like to offer a home to Poppy - a beautiful dog who just needs patience and training to settle her in to a new family - please get in touch! She really loves affection but has probably never been properly trained and can be a bit naughty as a consequence - nothing that cannot be solved with proper training and lots of TLC. She is a young, active dog who would love owners who will make a fuss of her, give her plenty of activity and get her used to a few house rules!! She really will make a super companion, given the chance! Jouals
