1. Val, I might be slightly inebriated. but why did you move to Canada?  I couldnt understand whether the job offer was when you moved to France, or Canada.  Probably just me - not understanding!!!   Good Luck anyway in Canada.   PS Have flown over it once on the way to L.A,.  I couldnt believe the number of lakes in Canada.
 2. Just because someone is attached to their grandchildren and wants to spend time with them doesn't mean they are living their lives through them!    Quite!!!   Youngest has just gone off to Australia - not a backward look in my directiion - which I am pleased about. The saddest people I know in the UK live their lives through their children and their grandchildren My two daughters and I have always been like 3 "best friends".  I thought long and hard about leaving to live in France.  although we all visit regularly, I had no idea I would miss them so much. I think anyone who can talk in a detached manner about their children, obviously are not very close to them.
 3.
Don't forget the conker comp at Abjat, is the guv Stewart at the boozer still a misery
You got that right Miki!!!  More miserable than ever!!!!!!!!!!
 4. Chance could be a fine thing!!!  We have a 200+sq.m. place here with a pool and about an acre, plus a barn.  For what we could sell it for, we could maybe buy a 2 up, 2 down rabbit hutch in the UK.  I still love France, but since we decided to up sticks and move here, a much loved grandchild arrived out of the blue, totally unexpected, and now another, also totally unexpected, but will be equally adored by all.  So we miss our family very much, and although they visit and we go back to the Uk quite frequently, it's not the same as being 10 mins drive away. I KNOW we would miss the quiet roads, the clean air, the wonderful starry nights, being able to plan a BBQ in advance and be relatively sure of the weather, but I also miss seeing my kids, M & S and having a takeway after a busy day, when you dont feel like cookingl What to do? - what a dilemma!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 5.
Ex Old Bill Miki and even worse, a traffic cop! I must say however thats he ok as ex-cops go. He is now a moderator on TF and seems to have upset some people on here.
ON HERE Lennon?  Where?  I am aghast     I have never been so gasted.  I didnt think David could upset anyone, here or on TF.
 6. I saw it in Bristol, I admit in the Gods, with hard wooden seats, and it felt like about 5 hours long, but I'm sure it wasn't.   I was bored witless and was looking at my watch every five mins.  Give me Phantom any time, or oldies like South Pacific, Oklahoma, Sound of Music etc.  They ARE musicals, not miserables.
 7.
Another aspect I find disappointing is the unjustifiable reaction that then follows (from some) against ethnic and religious groups (who publicly denounce such acts) For example, a comment from anoth...
That was Me Diemos.  I stated it was totally irrational, and if you had quoted the entire thread, I went on to say that they would probably be very nice family men, and absolutely harmless. This was just my personal feeling after these attacks, it does not mean that I am anti-Muslim, Arab, or indeed anti anything, except terrorists who take innocent lives in the name of their religion.
 8.
**I just tried to log on to TF and it tried to become a download... very weird.**On my Mac as well. I didn't try, naturally. Totally weird! There must be a bunch of chit-chatters down there having ...
......and this is what?  Seems like chit chat to me!!
 9.
I would like to know why people, generally hate Man U, you know, "we hate Man U and we hate Man U, We hate Man U and we hate man U......" and on and on. Not you specifically, but football fans gener...
Mee too.  Being the daughter of a Mancunian, I have supported Manchester United since I was a very small child.  Can remember my mother crying at the Munich Air Disaster.   They are without doubt a great side, with a great Manager.  I can also admire other teams, and cannot stand this "I hate M.U. attitude"   I wish them well this season, and am only sorry not to be able to see any of the matches, except the European ones. Go - Red Devils!!!
 10.
No, Janey, it's a Whizzy!!!! You can paint your name in the snow and everything, it looks brilliant. I'm just deciding right now between the longer original version, or the compact travel one. Sha...
Thing is Sal,. supposing you had been on the old Chenet and the Whizzy wasnt deep enough?  Bit embarrassing heh???
 11.
Hello I do not know why you have the brass balls to slag of the French governerment and in particular the president of the Republic of France. you are a immigrant here if you do not like it go back t...
For goodness sake Mik, are you saying that no-one in the UK criticises Blais, or in the US - Bush, or , more importantly - in Iraq - Saddam?  The only difference between the three is that the first two can voice their opinions openly without fear of retribution, not so for the unlucky Iraquis. Do you really imagine there are no Frenchmen living in England who did not agree with Blair and openly criticised him to their friends?  Get real!!
 12. You can certainly get fresh milk in our Super U and Intermarche.  I have to buy Entier for TOH, but I buy the long life Ecreme for myself, as I actually like it. Straight from the fridge by the glassful. It hasnt got the awful taste of the English full cream long life.
 13. I wouldn't say we are insomniacs, we just hit the "Wide Awake Club" about 11.30pm.   It's 12.16am here now, and I am just about to go downstairs to find a little snackette.  It will probably be about 1.30 by the time we actually say goodnight. Trouble is I am lucky to be awake, let alone out of bed, by about 9.30 next morning, and we are still trying to finish our renovation.
 14.
I have a Sony television with DVD player, video recorder and Panasonic digibox, all bought in UK. On a friends system, his television automatically switches in and out of widescreen mode as he changes...
Maybe it's to do with the model. Ours changes automatically when set on "Smart", as opposed to "Zoom", or 4 other choices.
 15.
LOL - remember this is LF not TF! regards....helen
Yup!!
