  1. I was very surprised to see that although we live in 79 (mid-west france) our orange server is in Guernsey.

  3. Uk free to air only.   Most people say when they arrive that they won't watch anything.   This is not normally what happens!
  4. Just googled PMU (google.fr) and they are doing the Derby......

    Help!!

We have found that the only way to get rid of them is to pick them off and squidge them.  Don't forget to keep an eye on your aubergines as well and to a lesser extent your tomatoes.  They are all the same family. Bon courage!
  6. Our willow trees are doing the same thing at the moment.

    Dog nails.

We had the same problem with our black Lab when we first came - and we took him to a Poodle Parlour so they could show us how much to cut off and they sold us a pair of clippers as well.
  8. In this instance the subject is an errant husbands behaviour in a divorce case.
  9. Thanks - yes that is broadly what I thought it meant. regards

She looks so sad - but not for much longer!  Well done.

    New Girlie

Great stuff - I am having trouble finding her on the site - what type of dog is she?
  12. Hi Can anyone help me please with a definitive translation of the following: Lien de subordination a leur egard de collaboration ou de communaute d'interets avec les parties. (It has been provided to me as above - with no accents.) Many thanks
  13. We charge 20 euros a week (or pro rata) in winter - partly because our rental cost in winter is as low as possible anyway.  For the 20 euros they get unlimited kindling, logs, etc and access to a log pile which is kept topped up for them.  As we all know, it is surprising how much wood even a small woodburner can use if kept going 24 hours per day.
  14. We are in a similar situation to you - both on one policy and on the same attestation - but Swiss Life kindly give us 2 cards.  Certainly makes life a bit easier.
  15. My husband spoke to Xaffinity who are the pension provider for the Navy and they say that his pension was treated as usual this month: it is supposed to be available in a UK bank account on the 4th and so they transferred it 3 working days beforehand; this time it took a whole week to reach our French account.  It would appear that someone is making a reasonable amount in interest from these transfers - I can transfer money from one UK account to another in minutes.....
  16. Oddly the Navy pension wasn't showing in our CA accout at 2230 last night but it was there at 0800 this morning!  Panic over.
  17. My husband receives a Forces pension and I receive an MOD one and both would normally be in our accounts (French for him and UK for me) by the 7th of the month but neither of us have received them yet.  Is anyone else having the same problem?
  18. Wow - where do you live?
  19. All you have to do is go to "manage my kindle" and change your address to a UK address.  No other details required.  I used my sisters address and she hasn't been contacted.  I certainly didn't give any bank details.
  20. It's sold in 20 litre containers in all the supermarkets and bricos.
