  1. Well, I am in the habit of letting out girlie sqeals of joy, but maybe it is as well you couldn't hear me after I read your post, val2. It was shrill even for me. Starting to feel like France is getting closer by the day! pix
  2. That will be of great interest to me as well, Val as that is the area we are looking at. My task for this week is to start doing some serious research into the subject.
  3. Thanks for that, Mistral. Good news that, as we are really not keen on the idea of a specialist school. Time to ask questions in all the right places, methinks.
  4. Hello, one of our family is blind and although she attends a mainstream school in the UK she needs a full time support worker. Sorry if this seems a naive question but is there such a system in place in French schools? Can anyone point me in the right direction to ask questions about support in French schools for children with disabilities, please? Thanks

Thanks for the response, I am not looking for exact advice - just a starting point which you kindly provided.

Hello Folks,   Sorry if this has been asked before but here goes.  The family has now made the decision that we are making the move to France (yay!) but we have one mighty important issue needs looking into before our plans can progress further. One of the children (5yrs) is disabled and needs regular hospital treatments plus daily injections. The cost of the medication makes it prohibitively expensive for us to buy privately. We have no idea at this stage how the French healthcare system works and would be grateful for any information you could share with us. Thanks. Lesley P
