Hi Dave&Olive Thanks for this. That is good to know. Two of our bedrooms are definitely double, but two of them I would argue are single. We have managed to fit a small double bed in each but with very little room for anything else (both rooms are 2.9x2.65). Based on that I think we would be under the 3000. I have just, however, found the "survey" results for the fosse we got when purchasing the house in 2008 and it doesnt look good. I cannot remember being that concerned about it at the time but think the estate agent and seller helped to convince me it was all fine..it doesnt look good and I dont think it was installed by a professional. The inspection is on the 19th Feb and I will not be in the country but am going to ask a friend to attend. I have also never had it emptied since we purchased it (we have only been using the house for a couple of months a year) so guess I need to get that done before the inspection? I am fearing the worst and think I will need a new Fosse which is going to hurt! Am I worrying too much ?!! Cheers! Herbert

Hi, We have just received a letter telling us that we will get inspected by SPANC soon. The 3000 litre fosse we have was put in six years ago just before we purchased the house. At the time the house only had two large bedrooms a kitchen and living room. We have now converted it to four bedrooms and I am worried that it will fail the spanc inspection because it is undersized. Does anyone know how easy it is to enlarge a Fosse? I really want to avoid the cost of replacing it. Any advice appreciated! Thanks

Hi, Does anyone know if there are any nasties to look out around Pontchardon? We have been badly burnt in the last couple of months by pylons and landfill sites and really want to make sure this time!! Thanks Henry

thanks Catalpa. I am not going to be able to get over to France again for a couple of months for family reasons so will ask the estate agent to ask the mairie - although I am slightly unimpressed that he never knew of the landfill in the first place...

Hi Catalpa, This is really useful information. I have just been over to Normandy for a week and have fallen in love with a property just outside Lonlay L'Abbey (near to Domfront). Do you think that the pylons might come through this area? Thanks
