Please can somebody tell me what this is??  I have asked the local French and they just say they got it when their child was born!!  I have had a child in France and still have not got one.  Now my son is needing to go to College in September (he was born in the UK) and are demanding the Livret de Famille.  I have tried to explain that I don't have one and they just don't understand how not.  Can I get one?  If so how?  Many thanks in advance your replies.Ally

We were advised a good six months ago that Carte de Sejour are no longer being issued - part of europe and all that jazz!  a passport is the only form of photo identity unless modern uk driving licence held.

I need to know if anyone can recommend someone, other than a notaire, who will help us write a will.  Although we are domiciled in France, we have just acquired a property in England that we are going to do up and sell on so we have interests in the UK as well but have to draw up the will under French law.  We have two children so I want to avoid, if possible, the passing of property to the children if one of us dies before they are 18.  Does anyone have any advice they can give me.  Many thanks.
