You can use crème entière (Elle & Vire Normandie) and add a sachet of Crème Fixe, which thickens it. An alternative is Elle & Vire Crème à Fouetter et Mascarpone.

Being a Scot, €5 at a photobooth was more appealing than paying a photographer. [:D] From your post on the other thread, I had sussed out that your Commune starts providing Christmas boxes once you reach 45, Minty

Did ours in January for first Titre de Sejour. Used Avis d'Impôts as proof of residency and Attestations from Ameli as proof of health cover. The system was put on hold but we did have emails advising that our dossiers had been passed to our Préfecture. We received emails end of October inviting us to appointments on 3 November. For Dordogne it is in the Cité Administrative in Périgueux. Some have initially erroneously been called to the Préfecture but I believe that has been resolved. There are "BREXIT" notices clearly displayed pointing one to the office. All we had to take were passports and recent photographs. Our appointments were 5 minutes apart though we were taken together. It consisted of scanning our fingerprints and giving signatures. They want id type photographs which can be got from the photo booths in most supermarkets. Anecdotally we understood not cut the photos out of the 4 photo sheet they come in. This may have been borne out by the fact that the interviewer had a special cutter which cut them to a precise size. She advised us that we would receive the TdeS in about a couple of weeks depending on possible postal delays. The whole experience was smooth and efficient and we were out before MoH's appointment time. Hope that helps.

Every Christmas our Commune gives a Christmas box to all residents 70 or over. I've been getting for some years and MoH qualified for it a couple of years ago. They have always been of good quality with a nice selection. They put it to suppliers to provide. Why should a French Commune provide an English box?

I am registered with an E121. The S1 superceded but did not cancel the E121

Contrôle Technique - Renewal date / test date / repair deadline etc?
Weegie replied to joidevie's topic in Driving in France
The CT is dated from the date of the first (failed) CT. You can't shift the dates. You cannot have 2 years + 2 months, for example. -
Look at the link in my post above.

Weegie replied to joidevie's topic in Driving in France
You cannot have an "advanced" CT. it runs from the date of the test. There are three possible results: 1. The test is passed with minor or no advisories - last for 2 years. You may drive. 2. Fails the test but not deemed completely unroadworthy - 2 months to effect repairs. You may drive 3. Fails test, declared unroadworthy/dangerous - 2 months to effect repairs. You may not drive. https://www.service-public.fr/particuliers/vosdroits/F2878 -

Think there is confusion with the EHIC, which appears to need to be changed. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/living-in-france#healthcare

"the whole event looked like it was taking place in some banana republic. People leaping and dancing in a sort of tribal ritual." A bit like the UK after the Brexit vote.

As with all properly conducted elections, postal votes cannot be counted before the day as there is a danger that any leak could affect the on the day voting. The postal vote, as I understand it, means opening two envelopes and an authentication process all of which takes time. If you take Pennsylvania alone there is in excess of 7,000,000 votes to be counted. Trying to hurry the process to satisfy anyone's impatience is counter-productive. With the febrile state of the election it is essential to be accurate and in a position to counter any claim of impropriety.

Don't get stressed about it. When you first power up the new TV the options/instructions come up. One of the first will be language/langue. Select English and go from there. Don't plug the sat box in until you have the tv running. Depending on the TV, you will have on the remote something like "inputs". As it is a new tv you will have HDMI connections. Once the sat box is connected. Go to "inputs" and it will come up with a list of HDMIs, depending on how many your new tv has. Scroll along the list to the HDMI you have plugged into and select that. You will then get your sat tv. Enjoy the new TV.[:D] PS: HDMI = High Definition Multimedia Interface. Just a fancy name for a particular type of connection.[:D]
