1.
You are missing the point B&B. Macron used people (or lorry drivers rather in this case) as bargaining chips. You, me, others. In fact in most cases it was his own people. It was wrong on so many levels. He showed his true colours as a person. Macron is worse than Boris.....but not as bad as Trump. There is a special place in hell for these types.
No, I do know what I’m talking about. You are just taking your usual stance. Still a one trick pony.
2. But ALBF if you want to give Macron the credit you have to accept that it must have been a good idea. It was so good in fact that the British government stole it a few hours later and banned flights from South Africa landing in the U.K. for the very same reason. You have to smile however when you realised that Macron as head of a sovereign country was able to control his borders within the EU framework. Thus proving one of the leave campaign’s best cards was a lie all along.
3. I see the woolly one is yet again playing his, i love you Boris but I must not admit it game while obviously having fallen hook line and sinker for the mutant virus scam. Typical!
4. They don't speak French or watch French news, read French newspapers... And... They're not entirely certain that their decision to be immigrants was the right one so push all such unsettling thoughts away by denigrating the UK. Well I hope that wasn’t aimed at me as I do speak French, do watch the French news and do read French newspapers. I also left the U.K. 34 years ago and have loved living in Europe ever since so I’m sure that I made the right decision when I became an immigrant. Covid is causing problems through Europe and the governments of the major countries reacted quickly and decisively when they saw that a break for Christmas was not going to work. BJ on the other hand pointed out that it would be inhuman to cancel Christmas, tried to ridicule the leader of the opposition when he pointed out the obvious threatened to take local education authorities to court when they realised the consequences of their schools staying open and played to the populist vote. When at last the penny dropped and he could no longer pretend that turkey and The Queen with the entire family was feasible (even if the whole plan was actually to keep the cash pouring into the tills that are boosted every December) he used the convenient mutant virus as an excuse for yet another huge u turn. Those of you who believe that it is patriotic to support his actions are as pathetic as you are uninformed. Having said the man from Tours is acting in character s9 fits 8nto that group anyway.
5. That’s a direct result of the British government lying about the reason for ‘cancelling’ Christmas. The new strain of Covid was a great way of using smoke and mirrors to shift the blame despite there being no evidence it is to blame for the rising numbers. A convenient scapegoat for BJ allowing him to do a U turn without losing the respect of his faithful will cost the country dear. The travel ban may be only 48 hours at the moment but the chaos caused will unlikely to have been sorted out by the end of the year. The time when the new chaos at the ports is going to begin. Poor decision making. Piss poor government.
6. I don’t drink. I’m just pointing out the obvious, obviously the obvious is too difficult for you. Is your fixation about being bullied something you picked up during your private education? It’s a shame that you didn’t make use of that time to improve your comprehension skills.
7. ‘However, I think the behaviour of the EU negotiating team has been deplorable as they have, IMHO, negotiated in bad faith. ‘ Rubbish. You are a long way right of centre in your political beliefs and will have far more sympathy for the ERG than for the beliefs of the Guardian reading posters. There has been bad faith on the U.K. side both towards the negotiations where they have already taken steps to disregard parts of the Withdrawal Agreement and to their electorate who they have promised, time and time again, a future that cannot be realised. The EU has always been clear about where it has to draw the line to avoid a country now outside the block having better trading conditions than it had when it was a member. Why do you find that so hard to understand? Britain recently completed a trade agreement with Japan. To achieve that (which more or less mirrors what they already had as a member of the EU) they had to erode some of their Sovereignty, that’s what happens when making a deal between two parties, why then are they refusing to accept that they will have to do the same to have a tariff free deal with Europe. This shortsightedness is the one thing that is going to cost Britain dearly long term. The EU too would prefer tariff free trade but they will be able to negate the long term damage by moving away from trade with Britain. Something that the road haulage companies have already started to do.
8. I use a Big Green Fan on my boat during the winter. It’s a big green electric fan attached to a solar panel. It does a great job at keeping the air circulating and was as cheap as chips. It was sold as an accessory for using in a greenhouse. This is yet another time I agree with ALBF, I certainly wouldn’t leave the electricity on or the heating running while a holiday home was left empty for months. I recently read a post on a thread about filling garden gas tanks where one poster spent more annually heating their unoccupied second home than I spend heating my home. It made me warm reading about it.
9. I think that one of the positives of Brexit is that it has starkly illustrated the huge advantages of being a member of one of the largest trading blocks in the world. The financial advantages are enormous but they are only one part of the equation. Only a fool would say that France would be keen to follow Britain, a fool or someone trying to wind up other posters.

11. I too hope that she is found but there’s a lot that doesn’t add up. I can’t see Brexit making any difference to marginal people who want to follow their lifestyle as it is they have hardly followed residency laws, I wonder where they declared their income over the years. Her total disregard for the confinement rules says a lot about their attitude to society. French cyclists were not allow to exceed the 1km limit in case they tied up emergency workers who might be needed elsewhere, how many have been tied up in this search. Walking in the mountains alone is risky at the best of times and stupid at this time of year. At the very least she should have been carrying a Personal Locator Beacon.
12. Quote: How many versions of this form have there been now? What a joke. I think you are showing your ignorance yet again. I’m sure you believe that your hero Boris would have done it perfectly. (although his track record seems to suggest otherwise)

14. However, no one enforces anything where I live, so you can set out at dawn, walk for miles and not head home til sunset and no one will ever question you. No sense of personal responsibility then? Do you really only follow rules and laws that you think will be enforced?
15. Talking about dates in the windscreen... A driver in La Rochelle was arrested for driving without insurance despite having an apparently in date vignette. It was forged. Obviously. For some reason he had chosen the expiry date of 31 02 2021.
16. How a bookie’s child learns to count; 1, 3:2, 2, 5:3, 3.
17. That’s for British citizens who are (tax) resident in the U.K. The ones who often don’t complete a tax return in France anyway because they don’t see the need. :)
18. CPAM in at least one department shows British citizens who have their health cover covered by an S1 Attestation de Droits with a 31/12 end date not the usual year in the future. It’s easy to check if yours one of the ones causing stress by checking online. The EHIC situation for S1 holders is explained simply on the gov.uk website. S1 holders use an EHIC issued by the U.K. to cover them for travel outside France and will need to apply for the new card that they will need after 01/01/2021.
19. Reims is also built on caves made when the stone was removed for building. They suit their current use perfectly.
20. Applied last year and received an email to say that I didn’t have to apply again this time. Then received an email with a rendezvous at our sous préfecture to drop off a new photo and have my fingerprints taken. All done last Thursday in a very quiet building, visits by appointment only not a queue in sight. The next phase will be my new card arriving in the post. It really could not have been more straightforward or easier.
21. They had a hydrogen powered ferry in La Rochelle as an experiment for a year. https://www.agglo-larochelle.fr/-/le-1er-bus-de-mer-propulse-a-l-hydroge-1
22.
I use the stop covid app (tousanticovid) on my phone when out and about. It now has a direct link to the correct form for going out. Fill it in and it generates the form automatically.
So do I but it was several hours before they replaced the page accessed from the App from the curfew attestation to the current lockdown one. The correct form was available via other links long before it could be accessed via the App.
23. https://www.gouvernement.fr/en/coronavirus-covid-19 https://www.gouvernement.fr/info-coronavirus/francais-simplifie-falc I followed a link to this official web site and was surprised by a couple of obvious errors on the English language page. A surprisingly poor translation.
