  1. Thank you idun and lindal1000 for your replies. I think translation of the document is the way forward, and then another visit. I will post the result in due course.
  2. Thank you too Gyn_Paul and mint. I did ask whether a translation was what she meant and she said no. However if I don't find another solution I could try this. I have also asked a local Notaire if he can help, but he has not come across this problem before.
  3. Thank you alittlebitfrench. I will do this
  4. We have hit a problem in registering my wife with l'Assurance Maladie because her birth certificate does not "match" her passport. She was born in Japan so her birth certificate is Japanese. She became a British National over 20 years ago so has a British passport. Japan does not allow dual nationality so she was unable to renew her Japanese passport when it expired many years ago. The lady at CPAM in Albi suggested that the British Consulate could issue an based on her certificate of naturalisation. I have spoken to the Consulate in Bordeaux who said they couldn't do this. We are both retirees with S1 certificates although mine is as a dependant of my wife's as I am not yet 65. CPAM will therefore not process my application action on its own. Does anybody have any experience of resolving this impasse?
  5. In that case I have no chance! We are staying with friends for our acte de vent visit and I could ask them to log in if we haven't got better things to talk about. Thanks again
  6. Thank you NormanH. This is as far as I had got - unfortunately I don't have a numéro de télédéclarant. The last one seems to want an amount and I thought my taxe d'habitation would do, but without the 2nd numéro I can't proceed. Thanks also alittlebitfrench. I had a look and it was a help but it doesn't seem to include the details that I think the site originally referred to contains. I will spend more time looking for a way round this. Possibly phone a friend.
  7. Thank you for the information, Chancer. I'm sure the information will be very interesting, if I could gain access to it! As far as I can tell I need to create 'mon espace', and to be able to do that I need some reference numbers from my French tax return. However, having no French income and not living in France, I do not submit returns in France. We have a holiday cottage (for the next two weeks anyway, as we are about to complete on its sale), and I do have a fiscal reference on the taxe d'habitation, but I need another 7 digit reference which I don't believe I have. Am I stuck or am I guilty of not looking hard enough? I would be interested to know how the price we achieved for our cottage measures up to other sales, but more useful will be prices in the area we plan to move to next year.
  8. We are selling our holiday cottage in Brittany (Cotes d'Armor) and plan to make a permanent move to SW France next year. In the meantime we need to store the contents of our holiday cottage. Does anyone have any experience with storage facilities in Cotes d'Armor?
