  1. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2024/jan/18/eu-citizens-entry-britain-spain-europeans-uk-border Start kicking the Brits out of the EU until the UK starts behaving ?
  2. Yeah but no but. Great being able to vote…but who you going to vote for ? Not the best of choice in UK. Torries…ummm….no… That tw*t Stammer…..no.
  3. Yeah…no. Its nice the first time. That is about it. Another pointless (expensive) French tradition. Give me a bourbon or maybe a custard cream biscuit and a cuppa anytime. You won’t break a tooth with a custard cream. 🙃
  4. https://creperie-la-flambee.business.site/?utm_source=gmb&utm_medium=referral Best creperie in France
  5. Inverness….on the sleeper. Will be doing it again next October.
  6. I live ere, I dont need trip adviser ffs. Im sure the restaurant is loverly… That street is kinda drug gang land.
  7. Its looks better dark. You cant see what you eating. Wot on earth…. in gods name is that ? Lol. You paid for that ? 😀
  8. Hmmm……Avenue de Grammont ?…..eek 🤔 Not a street I would go down personally.
  9. Another one…. Family of five Christmas Eve meal in a pub (of course) in a prime location in Winchester. Old pub lovery decor. Great atmosphere. Carol singers singing in the road, town hall all lit up, peeps happy. Merry xmas merry xmas merry xmas everywhere. 101 pounds. A crepe and desert in Tours any day of the week for a family of five will be a lot more.
  10. Sorry for your loss also. Just be careful of scams. That tax hab is quite high ! What I am saying is, just make sure that tax bill is legitimate before paying. Alarm bells are ringing in my head.
  11. When we caught the night sleeper from Euston to Scotland we ate at a pub/ restaurant in the station. The food was excellent again and no way near the prices of Normans overpriced tourist restaurant in Beziers.
  12. Two kids meals ! Oh and I don’t eat a starter or desert. Drinks I paid for at the bar. It was around about that price. Maybe a tad more but it was not over 90 for sure. Now the funny thing is, when we went to pay the hotel bill in the morning they forgot to include the meal. They thought I paid it the night before and I could have of said…ooh yes that right I did. But being good boy I said no. They found the bill and happily paid.
  13. That menu is for tourists with tourist prices to match. No one pays that unless you are holiday. That is not everyday French food. For a family of five the bill will come over 120 euros in that restaurant. Likewise with any crêperie. Mc Dos….35 euros I reckon. Kabab….probably the same. We ate at a local cafe in Kyle of Lochalsh (family of 5) in November and the bill came to 45 pounds. You could not fault the food or the portions. It was delicious. Too much in fact. We ate a proper posh hotel meal (family of 5) in a glam hotel in Scotland where the food was just exceptional. It was exceptional. And the people there were so polite and nothing was a problem. 70 pounds for that loverly experience. French food is overated and over priced. I am not paying 16 euros for a salad. For crying out loud.
  14. Where are prices please ? Not much on the menu for a 80% vegetarian like me.
  15. Don’t move to France and lose your UK paperwork. That is lesson for the day. 🤔
  16. How do you upload a birth certificate?….if you can find it ? Lol French driving license works ?
  17. I have a plastic credit card one….or used too. I thought everyone did ? ?
  18. I had before Uni, during Uni and then a couple of years after Uni. And then France. i have no payslips or that plastic NI card. That has been lost years ago. Just checking online to find your old NI number…..I can’t provide that info. My plan of moving back to the UK in 10 years time is looking a tad difficult.
  19. Who eats that though ? Who can afford it ? The staple diet of most around ere (which is representative France) is Pizza, Kabab, Sushi, Bagal…and Lidl frozen food made….not in France. Pizza out of a wall not a restaurant btw.
  20. Meteo France is certainly not fit for purpose. They forecast by looking out the window in Paris. Thursday evening google said on Oh’s phone that there was a 70% chance of snow during the night. I checked the meteo on TV and MF online and there was not a cloud to be seen on their charts. So we concluded it was rubbish. Next morning I got up early and sure enough it had snowed. Well done MF. So yeah, if want to know the wether forecast, ask google. Dont trust MF.
  21. I remember your post mint. The thing is, every problem in France today revolves around the utterly unacceptable French educational system. Everything. France is falling apart because schooling is not fit for purpose. It is just plain awful. He is/ was / could have been the man to sort it out. And the rest of France with it. Now he has got another job. So a pointless promotion just to try and save Macron’s and the EU’s face without sorting out the real issue. Which won’t happen.
  22. Attal has been announced as the new PM. No surprise there. Le Pen is way ahead of Macron in the forthcoming EU elections. No surprise there. Attal comes across as a good bloke that may (or may not) sought things out and he is a vote winner. People are utterly fed up with the useless EU institution and he may persuade them otherwise. Trouble is, he was the educational minster and the French educational system is completely and utterly diabolical. It is not fit for purpose. He was the man for the job to fix it….and he is no longer in the job. I had faith in him. So who now sorts that educational mess out ? Macron clinging onto power at the sake of the country.
  23. Anyone watching the French news tonight? France is in political meltdown?
  24. Turn off the news Mint. It is that easy.
