1. If you have a bbox you can divert all calls to answerphone (with a suitable "due to invasive cold calling I no longer answer my phone, leave a message or call my mobile" type message). The phone will not ring, unless it is a number you have entered as being friendly, or unless someone tries 3 times in a minute to contact you. Cold callers will never leave a message, and also, since I stared doing this I can see from my call list that all cold calls seem to have stopped.
2. But apparently cheaper than his 2 predecessors... "En effet, François Hollande employait une maquilleuse à temps plein pour un salaire de 6 000 euros net par mois, soit 30 000 euros par trimestre en incluant les charges. Quant à Nicolas Sarkozy, il avait essayé un système de prestation extérieure avant d'être rattrapé par la Cour des comptes et d'embaucher une salariée, Marina Michelet, qui a récemment confié ses souvenirs à Vanity Fair. Cette dernière était rémunérée 8 000 euros par mois environ, affirme le mensuel".
3. Unless, of course, they do a demi-tour http://www.lefigaro.fr/conjoncture/2017/05/21/20002-20170521ARTFIG00132-le-gouvernement-pret-a-abandonner-le-prelevement-a-la-source.php
4. Me neither. Online bullying pushing youngsters to suicide, the narcissism of posting endless selfies, the isolation of online "friends" vs real ones. And that's without even getting started on sexting and then revenge posting of the same photos on social media.
5. arrrrgh! could some kind person please sort my last post out, this forum is so broken with chrome.
6.
Ok, my little girl ask me to correct her homework so I did with a pen. I crossed out all the 'gots' because they weren't needed. She said that was the exercise you idiot. I said oops. I phoned my mum who is indeed a professor and has written and published many books. She agreed that the 'gots' weren't needed. I had no choice but to write a little note explaining why I had butcherd her homework.
Why would she ask you, of all people? And why would you correct her homework with a pen? Frankly I don't believe a word of it. You must have way too much spare time on your hands!
7. It's similar to buttermilk (only low fat, in this case). You can use it in baking (scones, soda bread), or in crepes or pancakes, esp. good for american style ones. Also good for salad dressings.
8. I thought that he said that he wanted to be president of everyone in France, the patriotes faced with the threat of nationalistes (Marine's lot)?
9. Italy, whether it be Lucca,Florence, Naples,Sienna, Sicily, 5 terres... for the moment that's where we're enjoying la dolce vita, but afterwards... who knows? We've a long weekend in Seville in a couple of weeks , and perhaps afterwards Burma?
10. Can I just say that I have a chromebook, jolly useful it is too, but they don't run on android. Chrome has its own operating system, chrome OS, based on Linux.
11. I can't find any recent figures (probably not yet published) but I found this for 2012 http://invs.santepubliquefrance.fr/Publications-et-outils/Rapports-et-syntheses/Maladies-infectieuses/2015/Morbidite-et-mortalite-des-infections-a-bacteries-multi-resistantes-aux-antibiotiques-en-France-en-2012 someone will have to make the link clickable though There is a long list of reference publications here http://invs.santepubliquefrance.fr/Dossiers-thematiques/Maladies-infectieuses/Resistance-aux-anti-infectieux/Publications-de-reference again, chrome has scuppered the click.
12. I do agree, I can usually rescue a so-so result, but many people are not confident/experienced enough to have a go. Which is why, if searching for a recipe on the interwibble, I always look for one with reviews from people who have actually followed the recipe, and often have suggestions to improve it.
13. Mint, chicken livers (foies de volaille) are available at Carrefour and Intermarche, either in plastic tubs (raw) or boxes (confit) and are usually sold on the same rayon as the bird itself.
14. I agree, so many people say that they have had the flu, when often it is just a bad cold. The best way to deal with a bad cold (man flu) is to take an antihistamine pill to dampen down the immune system's response to the virus.
15. Oh my goodness, it is 3 tablespoons of flour, not 3 cups, no wonder it was heavy and doughy! It is usually sweet enough, perhaps the sugar was masked by all that flour?
16. I just use whatever plain yogurt I have in the house, and splodge in a tablespoon of créme fraîche to "greek" it up a bit. Also, although the recipe doesn't call for it, I add a tiny pinch of cinnamon to the cake batter, which seems to boost the flavour. It's a very forgiving cake recipe, nothing needs to be too exact.
17. When we are awash with figs, I make this one a lot... http://www.lifelovefood.co/turkish-yogurt-cake-with-figs-torta/ It is light, fresh and lovely!

19. Well, I did do the survey, but I don't think that my opinions tie in with the OP's hoped for response!
20. Any insulin dependent diabetic knows that unopened insulin should be stored in the fridge, as once removed it will only last a month or less. In the fridge it will last until the expiry date. It is only the phial, pen, or cartridge of insulin currently in use that should be at room temperature. https://www.diabetes.org.uk/Information-for-parents/Diabetes-care/Insulin/Storing-insulin/
