  1. Can someone please put my mind at rest? We are bringing our dog over to France for the 1st time with LD lines. Has anyone used this company with pets? Never done it before, so ALL new territory, and nervous. Do the crew allow you to check on pets? Are they regularly checked by the crew? Are they allowed out of the car on the deck? Any info would be extremely welcome! We are quite clear on the admin' side, and already have an appt with French vet 35 hrs prior to return.
  2. We have a cottage near L'Aigle, and are struggling with the language! Both hubby and I are "O" level standard, and can just about get by.. as long as not challenged. Just wondered if anyone would be interested in getting together to share, learn and help with day to day discussions, phrases etc. Really want to be seen to be TRYING by our fellow French locals. It would also be great to find some Brits for the odd social gathering. I think we are the only Brits in the area... not spotted a single GB car, or heard the Mother tongue spoken... could this be true???? Cheers
  3. Hello all. We have a cottage near L'Aigle, and are struggling with the language.. both hubby and I did "O" level, and would love to practice the basics of everyday French with anyone else eager to learn or help. It would also be great to meet up with anyone in the area... seems very few Brits about! Cheers
  4. Hey Jeremy Thanks for your reply...sounds brilliant. BUT, whatever size is your car, to get a range cooker in plus units? Fen
  5. Can anyone recommend a good place to purchase new electric range cookers in the Orne area. We are getting hungry!! Fen
  6. Gay, thanks for the fast response. The site is working sporadically..(is that the correct spelling?), but continually getting a server error message up, which wont allow me to continue...getting very frustrating! Think its probably a site error, but equally it could just be me!!! Have you any advice on the best way to search...tried many avenues, but keep drawing blanks! Thanks Fen
  7.  Only joined yesterday, and experiencing a few techy problems with the site. How do you read a question on the forum, and then go back to the original page without it expiring? The refresh key always takes me back to page 1, then have to scroll for what seems like hours to find where I was..perhaps page 40! Am I being stupid, or is there a fault somewhere? Fen Many thanks

  9. Any ideas out there of the best place to look at electric cookers? Again, only know of Bricomarche in the Orne area? Fen
  10. Help....we hope to put a new kitchen into our cottage asap, but don't know where to go. Live in the L'Aigle area of Orne, and only found Bricomarche so far...any suggestions, and idea of price, quality etc? Fen
  11. Hello Does anyone know of a good, English speaking gas central heating engineer in the Orne area (Dept 61)? Got what could be a mega problem, which needs sorting urgently. Fen
  12. Hi Baz, Sorry, only joined this forum thisafternoon, and not clear about advertising "rules and regs". We have absolutely no financial interest, and stumbled across the contact by accident. I will talk to the person concerned to make sure that there are no objections, and then gladly post the details. Fen
  13. Sorry, no idea about one way fares, and forgot to mention that the contact is on holiday just this week...so you may not get an immediate response Fen
  14. We have just booked a 5 day visit to France, car plus 2 passengers for £40.00 return. If interested, let us know your email address, and we can tell you the source. Offers until the end of march. Fen & Ian
  15. we have recently purchased a cottage in the Orne area of Normandy...got a beautiful granite or French limestone floor throughout the downstairs. At present only using the house at weekends, and leaving the heating off...as primagaz is proving extortionately expensive...(or we have a leak...engineer coming to check next week!!!) When we returned a few weeks ago, the stunning floor was covered in patches of what looked like salt deposits...and after cleaning, appears to have scarred the floor in many areas. Anyone got any handy tips of sealing, or preventing this in future, or how to get rid of the marks please? Fen and Ian
