  1. Thank you all for that very useful information. Mel.
  2. Hi, Hope someone can answer this question. We have moved back to the UK so are no longer resident in France although we do still own our house there, and have been trying to sell for the last 18 months. This will be the first tax year (last years declaration of earnings) that we will have no earnings in France to declare on our tax return. Is there a process for this or do we simply put on our tax return that we had no earnings and tell them that we are no longer resident from this tax year ? Any info will be appreciated. Thank you in advance. Mel.
  3. Have you been on an all "human" ferry crossing lately.......................now that's smelly !!!!
  4. Hi Cerise, Thank you for that information. It sounds as if we have done all the right things and do understand what yo mean about the house prices in France......particularly at the moment. Hope alls going well for you and also that we can do the same quickly and "move on" as you say. Best wishes Mel.
  5. Hi all, A bit if information/advice required by those in the know please. We have had our house in France since 2006 and have run it as a Chambres D'Hotes for the last 2 summers delaring taxes etc via the AE system and also winter earnings in the UK via the french tax forms required. So think we have been "tax resident in France". We have just returned to the UK as our parents are in ill health, this will be a permanant move. What to do next ???? We have the house on the market in France and will use it as a "holiday home" until it sells (who knows when that will be !!!) but will come out of the French tax system, closing the AE etc. Has anyone got any ideas of the best way to do all this ? I know this may seem very vague but any thoughts/advice/information will be gratefully received. Thanks Mel.
  6. Hi Kong, Thank you for that, that all makes perfect sense and will probably do it on line after completing the paper version for my own records. thanks again, Mel.
  7. Thank you Kong, That seems to make sense, but does it mean that I don't have to fill in anything on the form 2042ck, the Chambres D'Hotes bit was the only thing I filled in last year and signed it. Do you think that makes it redundant for me this year. Thank you very much for any advice AGAIN !!! Regards Mel.
  8. Hi Again, Got all the forms through including the form 2042 ck and inside the 2042 ck pro. All I want to do is declare the earnings from the Chambres D'Hotes like we did last year......one line on form 2042c !!!! Can anyone tell me where and on what form to do this ...........CONFUSED.COM !!!!! Thank you for any advice. Best wishes Mel.
  9. Hi bill, 2042ck, that's what they sent so I'm presuming that's want they want back this year ?????? Maybe it's Homage to Calvin Klein ?? LOL Hope that's of use. Mel.

  12. Hi all, Just a quick question..........aren't they always !! I have been sent my Tax return form 2047 for 2012 declaration but they have not sent the from 2042 C that I completed last year for the summer B&B business. Can I download one of these from the internet or am I missing something on the 2047 form that will incorporate this ?? Thanks for any help as usual. Take care all, Mel.
  13. Hi, Thanks for the information..................despite the cynicism about the post. Have fun guys. Mel.
  14. Hi, Just a quick one, could anyone tell me how early and late can you fill out a tax form for 2012/2013 Thank you Mel.
  15. Hi Theiere, Oooooooops !! Don't know how the Picasso got in there......should have typed Megane !!!! As well as no mechanical skills it looks like my literacy has disappeared too !!!!. Mel.
  16. Hi Russethouse, Got no mechanical knowledge at all but know what I like in terms of comfort, I have a Renault Scenic Picasso but on my last visit to Limoges I hired a Citroen C4 Picasso ( because of needing lots of space for my elderly mum's wheelchair. What luxury, I loved it, automatic hand brake, automatic wipers (how lazy is that !!!!) The most comfortable 2 weeks driving ever, lots of space, ............I want one !!!!!! Hope you find what you're looking for. Mel.
  17. Good luck with it all Louise. Mel.
  18. Hi Louise, Sorry, this is going to be no use to you whatsoever but we opened our Chambres D'Hotes 2 years ago and got our breakfast licence straight from the Maire with our "registration" document. We had visited the Duane and were told they no longer issue them and were sent straight to the Maire who did the honours as above. Maybe it's the same for the "wine licence". We've never had a visit from the Gendarme but I suppose they have better things to do that see what kinda orange juice we're serving lol. Hope it's all ok for you, I'm sure its nothing to concern yourself about. Cheers Mel.
  19. Hi dexter, I just hope it all goes as smoothly as everyone suggests. I moved into my house in 2005 and despite giving all details to the notaire and a zillion visits to the Tresor Public in my local area over many many months it actually took them until 2008 to finally find me on their system and then wanted to bill me for none payment of 2005 2006 2007 as a penalty, luckily got good friends who helped out with my sanity !!! They eventually relented on the penalties but wanted the full amount due for the 3 years........I'd put this away in a bank account luckily !! It seems I couldn't give away the money. Anyway finally sorted out and the system works as everyone above has said. I'm sure you'll be "found" eventually. Good luck in your new home. Mel.
  20. Hi joidevie, We bought two of these 4 years ago, dead cheap to run, maintain a superb all round temperature and heat the rooms very quickly. Thermostat regulated and really portable and efficient, plus the modern ones don't smell at all. Mel. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:JapaneseKeroseneBurner.jpg
  21. Hi Sundance, I'm so glad that Missy made the journey and hope that the new diet goes well for her. It sounds as if you love her dearly and really hope things can improve for her now that she survived the move to the new house. At least now that you've made the decision you will know in your own mind that you've done all you can to give her every possible chance. I wish you all the very best of luck and hope that Missy settles well into her new "retirement home". Best wishes. Mel.
  22. Hi Sundance, I know you have been obviously torn by your position with Missy over the last few days.... and.......This is not meant to be an unkind question but can I ask why you asked for advice in your original post and everyone replied that you would be doing the best thing for Missy if you had her put gently to sleep in order to eliminate the stress and trauma of moving her and then you decided to ignore all the caring and well intentioned advice...... it just seems so pointless. Mel.
  23. You're doing the right thing and being the kindest to Missy. Feelin for you !! Best regards Mel.
  24. Hi Mogs It sounds like you have the Ideal room already for your new kitten to play in without you worrying, we used to have a similar room that the kittens could play freely in with litter tray until they were trained into the garden (I never have litter trays for older cats (why would you ?) I always wanted my cats to be comfortable in the same room as us so only let them into the "best" rooms when we were there but with some "rules" ie furniture scratching. A sharp hand clap and a firm no always worked and encouraged to jump up on my knee and sit with me was always rewarded. I'm afraid you're always going to get kittens launching themselves at things (its their job !!) Hope your perseverance pays off. Mel.
