  1. Make sure they  are ready to start school at the beginning of the September term so that they start with all the other children.
  2. All income has to be declared - private and government pensions incuded and then the private pension - subject to earnings could be subject to tax. That was the situation last year and I don't know if there will be any changes this year.
  3. Hi, I charge 35 euros per hour to teach French or English. I am qualified to degree level, travel to people's homes and often 'read' official documents, make phone calls etc for them. I am fully registered here, which means I pay quite a high percentage in charges. I don't know how people can afford to charge only 10 or 15 euros per hour.
  4. The Thrass method is also very good - www.thrass.co.uk.

    New puppy from UK

Hi, We even got permission to bring our puppy into France before she was the official age. We got in touch with the french ministry of agricultue, sent a request and she came here when she was 11 weeks old. No probs - the initial vaccinations ahd been completed in the UK. The follow ups were done her as was the rabies. If you can't find the info send me an eamil and I'll look it up for you. EMP 53
  6. Hi, There's a small, charming DV in Brece - near Gorron. Open Thursday, Friday and Saturday and run by Joy and American lady. Elaine
  7. Hi, Don't know what sort of work you are looking for but it would be easier in the larger towns than in the rural areas. EMP
  8. Hi, It depends on where you live. In Paris, for example, often costs can exceed 100%. Ask your insurer. Where we are - never. EMP
  9. Horse manure free to collector - near Pontmain 53. Email for phone number.
  10. Get in touch with UK walking tour operators or coach operators.
  11. As I understand it from a visit to the notaire recently the English property doesn't come under French law - only the French property. Maybe a French will and an English will is the best way. EMP
  12. I would stay on the payroll rather than be self employed.
  13. In 2000 a PSV license was just a formality. There are British HGV drivers living in your area - I think they do long hauls as opposed to short journeys. Look on ANPE website to see if there is anything available. Don't really know any farmers who employ regular workers but they do use agency farmers to cover sickness etc. Good luck.
  14. Regime with donation entre epoux - gift between husband and wife and then what provisions you want to make for the children in the will - you will need to check with the notaire what you can do about the children from 1st marriage. Tontine incurs a lot of tax and not necessay between husband and wife.
  15. I think you'll find writers come under a different category. I would check with your local ursaaf office. Good luck.
