  1. I didn't bother with the english version because I thought the gendarmes might take offence if I offered the form in a foreign language!

    Bin Day

There's a video clip around, I can't find a link, of a lady dressing up smartly in heels and well made up, mincing out of her front door with a small bag of rubbish and tossing it into a dustbin ostentatiously and then mincing back home again. Very funny!
  3. Don't print too many because they are bound to change the form again!
  4. Javel is fine, keep it away from plants. It breaks down quite quickly leaving fairly harmless residues (ie salt). Rinse thoroughly.
  5. From my experience: A) Yes b) Normally just the time to ship a box to you, all the rest is on-line. c) No
  6. Not just consumption but total cost including standing charges TVA etc.
  7. We have CdH - 2 rooms. Electricity a bit more than 7€ a day average. Plus two wood burners about three tonnes a season.

    Ebay or Amazon?

I detest both of them and use both of them. You have to use what is available!
  9. I don't like e-cards which are simply a sort of pictorial sms/email, but buying a card on line, personalised, and posted is great. The recipient gets a real card and your bum never needs to leave the seat!
  10. I have read elsewhere that N26 are closing all UK accounts.
  11. Yet another thread that should be exterminated.
  12. For some time transfers from some English banks have been extremely rapid, often a few seconds. Whereas in france it is seldom on the same day which can play havoc with cash flows. This morning I was making a transfer between one of the CA banks and BNP Paribas and was offered for one euro a guaranteed transfer in LESS THAN 10 SECONDS!
  13. Mint we watched that episode. The couple emerged clutching a 'recepisse' which is simply a receipt indicating they had applied for the CdS and is a temporary permission to stay while the dossier is dealt with.
  14. Nickp He is totally wrong Nothing changes until the end of this year.
  15. When you have the time please repost, this is an interesting topic.
  16. It's not the eggs, I have three eggs boiled or scrambled every day. It's the rareness of the meat. Rare steak upsets me. So it's a delicate balance cooking steak to get it just right so I can enjoy a little bit of rareness without subsequently being upset!
  17. Are we overdosing on the concept of allergies? If you inadvertently eat a peanut to which you are allergic and are seriously ill - that is allergy. Being unwell on an occasional egg isn't. I adore steak tartare (raw steak and raw egg plus). For some time I can't eat it as it upsets my system big time. I call that intolerance not allergy.
  18. I am terrified that this thread might get pulled and deprive me of the pleasure of reading such flows of vitriol, so I tune in regularly to ensure I haven't missed anything.
  19. We've been running B and B for many years and were surprised by a guest who said he had never stayed in a B and B in decades of business travel. He had no idea how much more pleasant it was than inexpensive hotels. That's why Logis et al need to wise up and replace their fifties wallpaper!
  20. Choose your parties carefully...
  21. I'm OK thank you. I've noticed the same. Deathly silence!
